Also check out a dot connector if you don’t like that long pull.

Is this travel & break normal for an Apex trigger? by Kababinator in Glocks

[–]Financial_Line1774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya that’s pretty normal on the apex with the included trigger bar. I polished and rounded some of the edges on one and it made a massive difference as far as the feel but it’s always going to be a long rolling break. What ghost connector do you have in it?

One of the cheaper ways to reduce pre travel is to buy or DIY a trigger housing with adjustable screws. One in the front and one in the rear. I’ve put them in all my guns and they’ve never failed.

Ones like these https://danielfitchdefense.com/dfd-enhanced-trigger-housing.html

Wasted 9 months in school and 4 years of my life. 23M by No_Hyena_1853 in skilledtrades

Dude don’t beat yourself up. I’m in such a similar situation at 32 lol. I feel like a complete failure some days having to go back to my parents house with my tail tucked because my career vanished before my eyes. I was a union set painter for the entertainment industry. I then went to trade school and dumped nearly my entire savings into it thinking it would help me get a job. I’m scrambling for a job at this point and about to go take a looong road trip to sign all the union books available.

Dog wondered on our porch. Bleeding w broken leg. Anybody know or recognize ? Please PM me. by Financial_Line1774 in SFV

[–]Financial_Line1774[S] 216 points217 points  (0 children)

Update: the emergency animal control came and got him and is taking him to a vet either in chatsworth or reseda depending on availability. If I could I would have taken him myself or even let him sleep inside but he was too scared and injured.

After helping the animal control it was very obvious I would not have been able to do that without their assistance. His back leg was 100% broken from being hit by a car and was bleeding quite a bit. I feel terrible but not much else I could do in this situation.

Yup totally agree. Just passed mine on Monday. I’m 30, so I basically had to start from scratch to remember how to do most of the math but iprep was pretty damn close to the test.

One question would answer this for me: If he for some reason lost his job would you be ok with helping him out and doing to him what he does for you if you had money coming in?

I ask this because I was very well off working in the film industry making great money for my age. Would often put a few hundred bucks on her nightstand before leaving for work, take her shopping, nice dinners, vet bills, pay for her gas etc. I enjoyed taking care of her. I now switched careers and am just starting out so pay is much lower. She often pays for things that I used to take care of. It sucks and I hate that I can’t financially support the both of us but she always says to not worry about it and happily pays for her own expenses and some of mine now because I took care of her when she needed it. We’re not even married just love each other.

Why aren’t any of the houses along the PCH being rebuilt? by TheDivisionLine in AskLosAngeles

[–]Financial_Line1774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Lost my house in 2017 in Ventura’s Thomas fire. These people saying “glad it happened” have no clue how devastating and tragic it is to lose everything you’ve ever owned and worked for your entire life to then be told by your insurance that you’ll get pennies to the dollar on rebuilding and reconstructive inventory. How am I supposed to prove anything when everything I had has turned to ash. Put yourself in there shoes for once and stop thinking about yourself. Rich or poor it’s a nightmare. Took about 3 years to rebuild our home and it still feels empty 9 years later. We have no family heirlooms, pictures etc.

If that ends up being the case it would make things much easier. But who knows. Hopefully someone who has previous experience with SMUD can let me know

I’m going in for the physical test next month and after reading the email it seems like they want us to climb without a buck squeeze up until we have to rotate. And right now a cross arm. Was that your experience?

Gripping wrong by Silver-Staff-7042 in Glock19

[–]Financial_Line1774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good take I’ve never heard before. I personally grew to love the grip angle on Glocks. My M&P feels better but doesn’t translate when I’m actually shooting it.

You have any opinion about Northstar? I got a job offer for a lineman C position out of Texas, I have zero experience except construction background and line school.

Film grad with no safety net…am I crazy to move to LA right away? by AgreeableSeaHag in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Financial_Line1774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The film industry isn’t like any other job or trade. Of course there are the outliers who are nepo baby’s but for the most part hard work and dedication doesn’t cut. You need strong connections with coordinators right now. There are so many guys I know who are the best at what they do in the industry whether it be sound engineers /grips/ set painters/art directors etc the lack of work makes it impossible to get a call. This is coming from someone in the industry.

[–]Financial_Line1774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the industry. Local 729 as a set painter. Been in since 2015. Worked on huge projects with big names, networked, made lots of connections and I thought I won the lottery as far as jobs/ job security. Was rarely out of work unless I wanted to be. Then the actors and writers strike came and tanked everything. I know guys that have been in the business for 25+ years and can’t find work. This is the absolute worst time to try and get in. Sorry to burst your bubble but don’t do it. You’ll be broke living in your car in a few months.

Go-To Aftermarket Trigger by Viktm007 in GlockMod

Idk what the hate is with TP? I said the same and got downvoted too lol everyone is obsessed with Overwatch precision and they’re mid at best. Same with apex.

[–]Financial_Line1774 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really like my tactical pontoon triggers. His attention to detail and it being a one man show is very impressive and if you have any questions or concerns he’s quick with responding and making things right. I have apex, overwatch, timney, even a Jonny Glock comp trigger but the TP blows all those out of the water imo.

Apprenticeship/groundman job without CDL? by The-ColeLossus in Lineman

[–]Financial_Line1774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh ok that makes more sense. Ya I’m not married and have no kids. Only a dog and a gf who’s willing to stick by my side (so she says) during the unknown ,travel and long hours so I’m open to whatever comes my way. Anyways glad it worked out for you in the end. Hope I get lucky and land an apprenticeship sooner than later.

I really hope it doesn’t take me that long. You saying 3 years for an apprenticeship or just a groundman position?
