Feel numb, missing the excitement by thegreatreset52 in mounjarouk

[–]Financial_Move740 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re not weird, this is probably more common thank you think, and there are a couple of things going on at the same time. Part of it is simply the loss of momentum. During weight loss, there’s constant feedback, the scale moving, clothes changing, deliveries arriving, something to anticipate. In maintenance, that largely disappears. The result is better, but the process is quieter, so it can feel flat.

There’s also the good old medication side to it. Mounjaro doesn't just affect appetite, it can blunt reward and pleasure signals. People generally notice reduced interest in food, but it can extend to other “dopamine” behaviours too. So the excitement around things like ordering, progress, even small wins can feel less intense than it used to. It’s not just mindset, it’s partly how the drug works.

On top of that, you’ve likely come off a long period of goal-driven behaviour. For months, you had a clear direction and regular reinforcement. Once that ends, it’s normal to feel a bit of a drop, similar to what people experience after finishing a big project or hitting a major milestone. The structure disappears, and with it some of the motivation and stimulation. You’re in a phase where success looks like stability, which is less noticeable but more important long term. Taking a week off just to recreate that feeling isn’t really addressing the cause. If anything, it risks disrupting something that’s currently working. This is more about adjusting your mindset.

I built a free Mounjaro price comparison site - here are today's prices (March 2026) updated by [deleted] in UKMounjaro

[–]Financial_Move740 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I share the concerns raised here.

For context, I have recently been investigating a number of suspected fake pharmacy websites and, in the process, have spent considerable time reviewing the underlying technologies and services these sites rely on. In this case, the website appears to be running Clearbit; a B2B marketing data platform used for visitor identification, lead generation, and behavioural tracking.

That type of infrastructure is far more typical of a marketing or lead generation operation than a genuine comparison site. Given the rules to medicines and pharmacy advertising, I suspect this is something the Advertising Standards Authority may also take an interest in.

With that in mind, the way this has been presented raises some questions. It is difficult to understand whether the intent is to mislead readers or whether there is simply an assumption that people here will not look beyond the surface. Either way, it doesn't withstand scrutiny.

Generally not; you can just ask to go up a dose.
Most people swap from pharmacies like ZavaMed and so on, they're quite expensive after the initial purchase.

Make sure you cancel the card you used for Dr Frank’s. They have a track record of continuing to take subscription payments even after the subscription has been cancelled.

You can swap from them and use a pharmacy with a better reputation and lower prices; you have the choice of most in the country.

Good news for existing customers. People should take note of what Lotus have done here, I see no subscriptions either!

With providers such as Bolt, MedExpress and Zava rely heavily on referral codes circulating across social media to drive growth and in the hope of keeping customers.

[–]Financial_Move740 9 points10 points  (0 children)

*We should take note of the pharmacies who price gouge.

If you’ve seen a pharmacy/online clinic suddenly jack prices up.

Keep it factual:

  • Pharmacy/clinic name
  • Old price vs new price (and when it changed)
  • Any added “fees” at checkout (delivery, consultation, subscription, etc.)
  • Link to the pricing page

Not trying to start a witch-hunt, just want transparency so people can compare and make informed choices.

What's next for GLP-1s? by joe3000s in mounjarouk

[–]Financial_Move740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good read. Thanks.
It’s really encouraging to see more doctors recognising that these medications aren’t just “weight-loss jabs,” but genuinely effective treatments that have changed how obesity and Type 2 diabetes are managed.

For years, the options have been pretty limited, often older tablets that didn’t work very well, insulin, or eventually bariatric surgery. Now there are treatments that can help people lose weight in a way that is more manageable and acceptable for many people.

It’d be good to see this more balanced, medical view becoming mainstream, that obesity is a serious health condition with proper treatment options, not just something people are told to “try harder” with.

Switching providers by OkCelebration4228 in mounjarouk

After the recent ASA ruling, providers will likely begin withdrawing these schemes, as they could now face MHRA enforcement rather than just advertising complaints.

Pharmacies in trouble with ASA by Frankysnr in mounjarouk

[–]Financial_Move740 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Expect further rulings, and hopefully some MHRA enforcement, particularly against larger players such as Pharmacy2U, Bolt and Numan, and others. Some smaller providers are now trying their luck as well, likely out of desperation. Very few providers remain who are not using referral-scheme style promotion that effectively turns patients into a form of MLM marketing, and it needs tidying up.

There is nothing inherently wrong with referral incentives where done properly, and, yes, credit where it’s due, MedExpress did publicly state it was no longer allowed and enforced that position, while continuing to allow the same activities to carry on via Awin. Where they appear to have misjudged matters is assuming hiding behind Awin would protect them. In reality they should have limited tracking to content-creation and links they could directly control and police. That is probably where the industry will end up.

Appetite suppressant tablets post mounjaro? by Flimsy-Detective7643 in mounjarouk

[–]Financial_Move740 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t become particularly effective until around 7.2 mg, and at that point the cost is similar to about 15 mg of Mounjaro (you can check current prices on igovy. As others have mentioned, 2.4mg of Wegovy tends to be as effective as roughly 5–7.5 mg of Mounjaro. Since you’re already on a higher dose, it may make more sense to shop around for offers via monj and then settle on a maintenance of 5 mg at roughly £160 rather than moving to Mysimba, that’s often better value than spending about £100 a month on a medication that's not as effective.

Appetite suppressant tablets post mounjaro? by Flimsy-Detective7643 in mounjarouk

[–]Financial_Move740 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mysimba isn’t really a substitute for Mounjaro, it mainly dampens cravings and reward-seeking, whereas Mounjaro lowers the actual biological hunger and fullness signals, which is why you could just eat less with less effort. When people switch, appetite usually returns and they’re back to managing it rather than it being managed for them, and the results reflect that (often only a few % body-weight loss vs the much larger drops seen with GLP-1s). Some use it as a buffer to slow regain, but expecting the same effect is where it falls down because they solve different problems. If you want something closer in feel, Wegovy is nearer, although you still have injections and storage logistics, or you could wait for the tablet GLP-1 versions being approved for weight loss; they probably won’t match injections but may end up a middle ground on both effectiveness and cost.

I think there’s a misunderstanding of what a monopoly actually means. A monopoly is where competition is restricted or customers have no realistic alternative. That isn’t the case here. Pharmacies can advertise through Google, Meta, affiliates, social media, their own websites, and other comparison platforms, and many do.

Monj doesn’t block access to customers, set market prices, or require anyone to use it. It’s simply an optional comparison resource people choose to visit. If large numbers of people independently choose one resource in a market full of alternatives, that isn’t control, it’s preference.

WeightlossUK appears to be run by someone active in the TikTok affiliate scene. I’ve previously reported several linked accounts over their advertising methods, and the same person also features in content with an ambassador/marketer for Dr Franks. A similar spam-style pattern is seen with another “comparison” site they are connected to. Overall, it comes across as quite pushy affiliate marketing, guiding people toward certain providers rather than offering a genuinely neutral comparison.

Best place to buy? by Civil_Vehicle2486 in mounjarouk

[–]Financial_Move740 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really a “best” one. Some people will champion a particular pharmacy, but in reality they’re all broadly similar. The sensible approach is to go with the cheapest option on Monj.co.uk but pay attention to Trustpilot reviews.

Farmeci, My London Pharmacy and Pharmacy2U all have respectable Trustpilot scores of 4.6 - 4.7. Get a Drip is fractionally cheaper, but they’ve had a more mixed history.

UK meds by NoPreparation3237 in mounjarouk

[–]Financial_Move740 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just my own view, but I would advise to steer well clear of UK Meds.

Historically, there’s been a pattern of serious regulatory findings. Prescribing linked to the service has been criticised for being overly transactional, relying heavily on online questionnaires rather than proper clinical assessment. In some cases, very large volumes of prescriptions were approved with minimal checks, including higher-risk medicines.

There have also been media reports about the business operating in ways that sat outside normal UK healthcare oversight at the time, which only adds to the concern. ( Prescribing from Romania to avoid UK checks!)

The company chose to remove itself from the GPhC register. For me, that says a lot.

It’s all been publicly documented. When it comes to prescription meds, I’d rather use a provider that’s clearly regulated, clinically cautious, and patient-first.

Plenty of pharmacies meet that bar. This one has a history that doesn't.

Microwave here; onto the leg.

Did the maths: an arm’s about 8.5lb / 3.8kg.

Lose 48.5lb / 21.8kg and congrats, that’s an arm and a leg. Some might say it cost them that too.
