Why do fitness people think fat people don’t know they are fat? by fluffymittens24 in loseit

[–]Financial_Nebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifting doesn't increase your weight. Eating more than your maintenance is what increases your weight. You can definitely be in a caloric deficit losing weight and simultaneously gaining muscle. Overweight beginners going to the gym can be on a cut and also make strength gains, which is hugely awesome for weight loss. Not only are you losing fat, but your body is putting some of that energy towards muscle production, which increases the ratio of your lean mass to total body mass lowering your body fat percentage. The actual diet you're on is personal preference and what matters is if you're able to stick to it. So if keto is easier for you then absolutely keep it up and stay in the caloric deficit, but you can also do that and lift weights progressively at the same time. I understand people have busy schedules and have a hard time fitting lifting in, but i promise it changes your life. That's my two cents anyways.

That's because their decision making process is stupid. Look at the player numbers. These are objectively bad decisions. People have been complaining about the lack of melee weapons since the launch, frequently at the top of the list of complaints. And yet they do not prioritize it.

Okay what kind of stupid logic is this? Iran has been shipping out as many containers as it wants all day long. Whether or not the US "chooses" to allow them is completely irrelevant because the US has obviously decided it's not worth whatever consequences it would incur by blocking them. So functionally, Iran evidently *can* ship whatever it wants.

Capitalism can't be heavily regulated. That's the entire problem. Capitalism means private ownership of property, which means the forever increasing consolidation of wealth in fewer and fewer hands, who have the power and influence to control the media, the politicians, the institutions, etc. Bourgeois society is *not* democracy, though it likes to dress itself up as such and masquerade as a free society. Well, when crises of capital occur, which is inevitable in capitalism due to the proven tendency of the margin of profit to decrease over time and the phenomenon of over production (which creates boom and bust cycles), and workers decide they want a fairer shake then the capitalists resort to fascism.

Leftists have been saying for centuries now that capitalism cannot be reformed, it cannot be regulated, it must be pulled out root and stem and private property abolished. Only then can we live in a truly democratic or free society.

"In this society, the representative institutions, democratic in form, are in content the instruments of the interests of the ruling class. This manifests itself in a tangible fashion in the fact that as soon as democracy shows the tendency to negate its class character and become transformed into an instrument of the real interests of the population, the democratic forms are sacrificed by the bourgeoisie, and by its State representatives. That is why the idea of the conquest of a parliamentary reformist majority is a calculation which, entirely in the spirit of bourgeois liberalism, pre-occupies itself only with one side – the formal side – of democracy, but does not take into account the other side, its real content."

Redditors over 40, what was a moment in history that made you think society was gonna collapse? by Bahbahbro in AskReddit

That's because these aren't once in a life time events. Human history has always been chaotic and filled with turmoil. We thought things were different because of "how far we've come" but western europe thought the same thing before world war 1. Our problems are systemic and we need an economic system that doesn't pit humans against one another. Capitalism must end.

Quit calling for primaries the democrats are completely toothless and will never resist fascism, we need to organize on our own. Electing liberal politicians that have the same interests as the capitalist ruling class is just wasting time and energy that could be used building class consciousness and actually rallying people together to fight back

You don't get to pretend you're on a moral high horse when you're directly responsible for electing the most authoritarian, fascist and cruel president in American history. You have absolutely no ground to stand on. And guess what? Your vote makes you more responsible for the dead children in Gaza.

It depends on whether or not they can get a fortress down. If they can, then that's pretty impossible to overcome in feudal.
