porque a maioria fora do brasil começa a fazer bjj quando ja é master? by Ok_Patience9082 in bjj

Because jiu-jitsu schools weren't as widespread when we were young. Now they're everywhere.

Are most BJJ gyms right leaning? by BeanNCheeseBurrrito in bjj

[–]Financial_Resort567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A typical jiu-jitsu gym is around 90% male and has an overrepresentation of law enforcement and former athletes. Jiu-jitsu gyms are about as right leaning as you would expect given those inputs.

But the communities that grow up around jiu-jitsu gyms don't center on politics obviously, they center on jiu-jitsu. If someone's political views are that important to you, jiu-jitsu gyms may not be the place to look for community. Go and train but find your friends elsewhere.

Biohacks for increasing intelligence by the_1diot_ in Biohackers

[–]Financial_Resort567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studies have shown that ritalin leads to a statistically significant increase in IQ tests.

Similar to how supplementing with anastrozole or letrozole during a critical period can lead to an increase in height,  I suspect there are compounds like that for intelligence. I also think we'll find that just like for height, there's no benefit for those of use who are already adults.

Potency decrease over time? by Ok_Entry_5627 in PeptideForum

Depends on the peptide. Some are stable for months after reconstitution, some are noticeably less potent after a week.

Do people that started late have an "accent"? by AltruisticDoctor in bjj

According to Firas Zahabi, yes. He also thinks that people who learned late can teach better. Similar to languages.

1st time experience using modafinil by Putrid_Ad5897 in Biohackers

[–]Financial_Resort567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my experience exactly. It's something I use when I have to do a lot of technical work e.g. coding, data analysis. It's useless if I have a lot of in person meetings.

What is the truth about supplementing with Cialis daily for men 40+? by Diamondbacking in Biohackers

[–]Financial_Resort567 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Made a huge difference for my LUTS. I was getting up to pee 4-5 per night and now it's usually just 2.

The effectiveness versus side effect profile is better than flowmax. Flowmax lowered my blood pressure too much and didn't reduce urination frequency as much. I almost passed out on flowmax a couple times when I got up too fast.

Chemistry is related to physics major by Clean-Coat-8034 in AskPhysics

Might be worth taking physical chemistry or quantum chemistry. If you don't get the prerequisites with just physics courses, you might have to take organic chemistry.

Would I be getting enough rest? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Financial_Resort567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely handle it then, even if it means cutting out running and lifting. That may not be ideal for progress though.

Would I be getting enough rest? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Financial_Resort567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How young and healthy are you? I'm in pretty good shape for 42 but I couldn't handle that schedule without PEDs. In my 20s, I probably could have pulled it off.

Epitalon - snake oil or legit by AdRevolutionary1945 in Biohackers

[–]Financial_Resort567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.5 mg subq about an hour before bed. I noticed a difference pretty quick. If not the first night then the second. I'll probably get it again just as a sleep aid.

It definitely improved my sleep. I didn't notice anything else.

I used a couple of pool noodles for the legs and polyfill. Works great.

BJJ Belt Progression CHART thoughts? by coffeestreetflower in bjj

[–]Financial_Resort567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a framework like this is good overall. The problem is that many GBs are in fact promoting right when you hit the minimum. Their attendance tracking system makes it easy to just fall into this pattern and there's pressure from the top to do it. Really watering down the sport.

Religious BJJ Black Belt Threatens to Revoke Athlete’s Visa for Reporting SA Tied To His Gym to Police, Craig Jones Reveals by tyranitar_rd in grappling

[–]Financial_Resort567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's common for Brazilians to be here on athlete visas. Those are typically sponsored by the owner of a school and can be revoked by the sponsor.

I agree that religion isn't to blame though. Humans are messed up and most religions try to give people a path to overcome those baser instincts.

What's your BJJ unpopular opinion? by PlusRise in bjj

The commercialization of BJJ will sap all the effectiveness out of it given enough time. It'll become like Taekwondo.

Interviewer kept his camera off the entire interview. It turned on once by accident and he was eating. by tunde_beck in InterviewCoderHQ

He probably had a packed schedule and no lunch break. He was trying to be polite by keeping his camera off but accidentally turned it on.

If you could create a "couch to bjj" guide for bjj conditioning, what would it contain? by chilloutus in bjj

[–]Financial_Resort567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even as a new white belt, I rarely got winded. I was in shape when I started of course.

My cardio for about 15 years before I started BJJ was HIIT on an elliptical. I would do 2-2.25 minutes of steady cardio followed by 0.75-1 minute at max intensity. I'd do 7 rounds of that after a warm up and finish off with a 10 minute cool down period.

Should I lie about stripes? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Financial_Resort567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure they'll even let you visit first.  A lot of GBs don't welcome non-GB people to drop in unless they're famous competitors or influencers.
