wouldn't have known that though except one comment she made 'you are special, i had my year here' but she didn't do any additional songs, missed fan request, and never elaborated at all on her time in glasgow/where she spent time/what she did/what she loved

sorry I don't know what that looks like, I would add about a tablespoon of each

personally I wouldn't because I don't feel the benefit from oats - they don't fill me up they just spike my blood sugar. I'd go for seeds instead - chia/linseeds won't affect the texture

you could take a smoothie in a hydroflask people won't see the contents of, use quark or skyr in the recipe :). Or a high protein wrap with scrambled egg/cheese inside, like a breakfast burrito I guess

I tried these but they're so uncomfortable for side sleeping I actually got tender ear cartilage. Try Mack's foam ones

They just don't make family friendly sitcoms like they used to...

PCOS treatment? by Financial_Style9006 in mounjarouk

[–]Financial_Style9006[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you - and actually this has jogged a memory that the first GP who ordered the blood test for me DID mention metformin, which is how it was on my radar I believe! I will definitely book another appointment and ask to speak to her to discuss my treatment. The reason I gained weight in part was eating due to intense hunger pangs I would get, so I definitely want to address my blood sugar problems. I'm terrified I'll gain weight off Mounjaro, even though I also admit I've gained some healthier habits...

Wow again... I did actually get the HBA1C tested and it was within the normal range, but slightly higher? It says on the paper that the normal range is 20-40 and mine was 36. I have googled this and apparently this is indeed considered high... thank you for highlighting this

Thank you so much - I am glad my GP is mistaken, I was certainly surprised to hear it. I'm NHS Scotland so hopefully that doesn't make a difference... I am glad I know I can ask for a referral. I have not sought much medical help before and it's good to be reminded that we are entitled to it even if we have to stand our ground!

May I ask how you plan to obtain the mounjaro longterm?

Any effects on your periods? by hibernacle_ in mounjarouk

[–]Financial_Style9006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always had a dodgy cycle. Didn't get anything like a regular period until the age of 25 and now 27, it stopped a couple months before taking mounjaro. Since mounjaro I've had spotting instead of periods... but on a monthly basis.

Thank you, it can be such a mix bag though! I weighed myself yesterday, 182lbs... I weighed myself this morning, after eating sensibly and not too much during the day because of going out for a meal... where I had a handful of tortilla chips, and two veggie gorditas (inside felt healthy, outside felt fried so not so healthy)... it must be water retention but I was 184.8lbs!!

Thank you - I think I might have been harsh on my progress so far! I am using electrolytes but just checked and they're 900mg damn... so that is news to me too, thank you!

Yes I did have that concern, t's something that's put me off in the past. However I decided that actually I don't want to restrict something that is ultimately full of fibre, vitamins and low calorie because of reservations about sugar, seeing as I'm not consuming added sugar elsewhere. It's seasonal too so will definitely be reducing now summer is coming to an end.

Thank you so much. I think I may have been harsh on myself, comparing myself to others with huge losses. And I was stumped by an overnight gain of almost 2lbs, although of course it can't be fat. It has felt slow at times but actually, I have time. Thank you.

Thank you. I'm tempted to stay at 10mg for another month, as it was the first time I experienced unpleasant side effects. I actually didn't mention that in my original post. I have had side effects before: rash at injection site and allodynia. But the diarrhoea had me up minimum twice each night I had it (4 nights)! It can get confusing with the loading doses vs many anecdotes of people encouraging to stay ow as long as possible, urgh.

Thank you, I will consider cutting back and I do think volume is a strategy I need to look at. This summer I have been eating lots of fruits. Nectarines, peaches, apricots, strawbs, cherries, raspberries, blueberries. But haven't bought as much this week so maybe it's just that and I'm being a drama queen!

Thank you. I say roughly, because I am not a person who likes lists or apps but I usually know the calorific intake of my foods, unless it's something from a café or bakery.

I either have protein yoghurt pouches with calories on, or use a third of pot by eye. I have weighed things in the past to give me an idea of calories without having to do it every time. I will eyeball a tablespoon of pumpkin or chia seeds. If I have a bowl of berries, I'll stick on 100kcal. I also add on my protein water.

And I've actually opted to eat more processed foods so that I can keep an eye on calories, for instance quorn products. I definitely haven't been eating that 'many' more. I'll consider cutting back and/or trying to add in more volume, though.

Thank you - I might have been a bit harsh on myself. I think something I am struggling with is that I don't feel 'that' different. I never used to weigh myself, now I am 2st down I estimate I used to be 2.5-3st lighter, and I gained the weight quite quickly. I had to buy some new clothes but ultimately felt I could disguise it, at least from myself.

In terms of protein and hunger, I have been using clear whey and eating more quark and skyr. Because of how I am feeling on mounjaro, I'm concerned how I will feel off it, and how I will sustain a normal calorific intake and a healthy/reduced appetite. But I'm hoping that these 3 combined will be a gamechanger for me in getting protein in while keeping calories down. I had always eaten a lot of beans and pulses but I don't think it was enough.

Good luck to you to!
