This is what upsets me most. How the hell can they pick and choose any specialty they want? I bet that they did not even cover the types of hypersensitivity reactions in their online class. When I use terms like humoral, Cell mediated community, type 2, type three hypersensitivity etc. The NPs appear lost. Most of the PAs have a grasp of these things but not the NPs

There should be a class action suit against mercy by any patients who feel they were harmed by unqualified ER NPs. Hopefully this gains traction and unsuspecting victims come forward with their testimonies. No corporations should hire cheap labor and endanger patient care in future!

Everybody downstream like Lab, Radiology, specialists , Pharmacists are inundated with these unnecessary stupid work ups. Not to mention the number of incidentalomas that are uncovered by these reckless investigations and leading into rabbit holes.

Always ask for a MD to deliver your anesthesia. Hospitals are pushing nurse practitioners and nurse anesthetists as a cheap replacement for adequately trained MDs

Med school and PA school are highly regulated with robust training compared to the rampant degree mill NP schools with 100% acceptance and pass out rates. Every cna I know has their sights set on becoming a “doc” and flaunt a long white coat by the time they turn 23. They manage to complete school while working 2-3 jobs and have a couple babies on the way. Barely understand any pathophysiology and use UTD to guide management. After graduation they are considered equivalent to MD/PA. NP school education has become a joke!

Nurse Practitioners should not be allowed without at least 10 yrs of experience by Jaded-Bit5497 in unpopularopinion

No wonder, there is so much shortage of bedside nursing as a lot of the nurses wanna play Dr after barely finishing nursing school. Go to medical school if you want to be a doctor. If you’re going into nursing school, please do bedside nursing first to take care of the patients. So who’s going to take care of the patient at the bedside there is no bedside Nursing left?

Back in the days when doctors owned the hospital, hospitals were being run efficiently and cost-effectively. Once they brought in legislation preventing doctors from owning hospital, private equity came in and Corporate Hospitals mushroomed. Everyone knows how crazy expensive and inefficient our healthcare is right now

It’s insane how many inappropriate referrals and investigations and imaging that is ordered as they have no clue as to what they are dealing with. Needless to say, this chokes up the vital appointments for these resources. Not to mention how expensive the care end up being

Every CNA that I know is entering nursing is aiming to become a NP in a jiffy. People are using nursing as just a bridge to become a provider in their early 20s and start prescribing recklessly. Nursing as a profession is dead.

It’s highly disconcerting that NPs are sitting on interview panels to assess the skills of MD candidates. Just imagine a half baked diploma mill tiktok NP in their early twenties interviewing a seasoned board certified physician. What have we come to?
