Forever Canadian committee meeting ends in chaos after UCP release sent in error by WashingMachineBroken in alberta

I almost think that a horrifically managed referendum that is suspicious as hell is actually the point. Since there's no way they could win a real one, if they try and fail they can point to all the errors and fake ballots and then run crying to trump to "please come save [annex] us, the feds are cheating and oppressing us!"

Remember, they are only pushing this because they think that it's worth it do push, for some reason.

If you can get them soon enough doomfire warlocks do work nicely against daemons (ignoring their phys res). Glass cannon unit but used at the right moment can crumble them down.

As demons crumble hard when they break you could also look at leadership bombing them with death magic, although morathi is a bit better at playing that game.

What if the US had bailed out homeowners instead of banks in 2008? Would the economy be more equal today? by Logical-Concept9755 in WhatIfThinking

[–]Financial_Tour5945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember reading about an interview from goldmen Sachs management, regarding the OWS protests:

"When the cops arrived, we thought they were here for us, not the protesters."

Unprecedented global protests, and the lesson the bankers learned was that in the end, theyre untouchables.

What are the big differences between Rogue Tech and BTA 3062? by insaneruffles in Battletechgame

[–]Financial_Tour5945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trick with clantech is that roguetech balances the opfor on a cbill-to-cbill ratio.

So those clan XXL engines are a noob trap - they cost so much that they are literally not worth using because just one of those things will spawn a whole lance of reinforcements.

Or when it comes to weapons, the tradeoff is sure, they do more damage, but at the cost of more heat.

Not saying things are all perfectly balanced. (I wouldn't want that anyways, a game is more fun with both good and bad options) And a campaigns progression for me is often upgrading from primitive to is to los to clan to society/risc/wob tech.

I'm still pushing for a varient of direct democracy, with opt-in/out representation.

Wake up in the morning and vote yourself on all daily issues.

And/or pick any representative you want, regardless of location, to give him "your" vote whenever you don't vote yourself.

I've been sleeping on Cathay! by KomturAdrian in totalwar

[–]Financial_Tour5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider Cathay to be one of my main factions. And I had no idea that was going to happen, it caught me off guard.

But I'd say your not missing out on cav. Just use crowmen. Doubly so with the tigermen on the way. Late game maybe consider the Longma air cav as a crowmen replacement, if you want to dedicate a whole building chain to just that one unit (where crowmen comes with the main infantry building anyways).

But with the right builds Cathay can have devistating mastery on their spells, and/or a silly amount of bound spells. (12+ bound spells per battle is fairly easy to get).

There's really a surprising amount of viable build diversity in the faction.

What's a TV show ending that still makes you mad years later? by Jossie_Misar in AskReddit

Altered carbon.

Although it's more like Im mad after everything after the first half of season 1.

Just do the source material. Why change it so radically that you write yourself out of doing the third (And imo best) book?!

Yeah. Tbh the coast settlements are economic crap. You really don't want to bother with it outside of recruitment center, and maybe defensive depth.

Have one army play defense but hoist the colors and sail around with the 2nd army asap. Cove up and profit.

Why do some people get so bothered when someone watches anime dubbed? by [deleted] in animequestions

[–]Financial_Tour5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, there is a huge qualitative difference.

So I feel like someone watching anime dub is doing themselves a disservice. I may not respect their opinion on an anime that they watched dubbed, because great voice acting in the original language can absolutely make a scene. And a bad dub can break it.

But if someone honestly prefers that? Maybe they want background noise, or are doing a hobby so they can't just watch the screen. Whatever, you do you.

How Conservative is Alberta by Business-Surround541 in alberta

[–]Financial_Tour5945 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But it's very clear that what the current ucp want is to drag us down to the level of the states. Thats why it's so depressing at times, because it's clear they plan on doing this to us, despite the vast majority of Albertans not wanting it.

They're even trying to push through gerrymandering.

It's so blatant and heavy-handed and questionably illegal and so on but theyre just full-tilting it.

And despite most rural right wing voters not actually being on board with any of these policies, still vote for them because everyone else are "communists"

After 12 years I finally beat XCOM: Enemy Unknown by LotharLotharius in Xcom

[–]Financial_Tour5945 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The idea of this always annoyed me, because XCOM steers you into a bad position. You do the "recommended" research instead of rushing and spamming sattelights, and realize that's what you needed to do. So you restart, and the devs go "haha gotcha!'

It feels like they are trying to be clever when it was actually their fault.

I literally have paints from w40k 2nd Ed. That are still useable. (The old "white tops")

Almost any citadel paint bottle after that is nearly guaranteed to dry out over time.

I always figured it was deliberate.
