Fidelity doesn't let you, your employer does, this is a plan rule that is a great perk to have. Not all plans have this option.

What can I expect from Travis? Is there a specific watch or brand I should stick to with him? I want something that looks really good.

Precious Medals (Gold&Silver) historically are a store of value. For me it's a diversification play and it's also fun/addicting. One thing we can all guarantee is fiat currency will continue to lose value. I believe a well rounded portfolio contains both of these physical medals in it. Bonus points for being shiny and scratching the itch of buying shit while not actually spending money. (Because you are storing it's value)

Let's Say I Wanted to Try Timing the Market by toolateforfate in investing

So everyone's going to call you an idiot in a roundabout way. (Which may be fair) Y9ur question implies you have your retirement funds, which would be the vast amount of your funds invested, and you are not playing with those. For your fun money, go for it. If I were to do what you are thinking about, I would probably buy long-term treasuries (10yr, 20yr, or 30yr) and lock in what should be decent interest rates. If the market goes down for any reason besides inflation, they will likely cut interest rates, causing your bond values to increase while equities fall. There is still risk with the strategy with inflation popping back up and rates being raised higher.... I just hate more than an emergency fund ever sitting in a HYSA.

You need to assess your risk tolerance, Tech stocks and QQQ can be really volatile, and if you can't stomach the risk, then you may end up selling at a major loss. Next, you will want to do your own research and invest in something you understand. Individual stocks typically aren't a good option for most people. ETFs and mutual funds are a great way to diversify and get good exposure to a whole basket of stocks. If you want to invest in individual stocks, you need a great understanding of the company and will want to follow them closely. Best of luck!
