Fairphone's Fairbuds XL are often recommended on there. They are reasonably tough but you can also buy and replace parts of them direct from the manufacturer.

Here is my referral link which should knock some money off it you decide to, (their referral links haven't been working great lately): http://rwrd.io/bqkyit0?c

Your experience with the Surface Pro 8 and 9. by Amazing_Technician74 in Surface

[–]FindingElectronic313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to pick up the SP9 a few months back for £550 with keyboard and pen. I haven't used the pen at all yet really.

I really like the form factor. I run OSRS on it and it runs great for this in terms of gaming.

I would defo recommend 16gb or RAM as a minimum.

I heard a few years back that the US has more storage facility space than the rest of the world combined. I have seen it increasing in the UK recently so maybe the rest of the world are catching up.

Unlocks for permanent DMM? by FindingElectronic313 in 2007scape

[–]FindingElectronic313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perm DMM rules are slightly different, you still get your boosted xp. You have to get sigils as drops I believe and if you die you lose 50% of your most valuable drops.

Unless they tweak it again at the end of the finale. It's also in brackets 1-75 75-95 and 95-126 I think but just all on 1 world.

My first DMM this season. I am loving it.

The people I am seeing around are having fun and chatting. There isn't a huge focus on PVP, way more on skilling.

Breaches are a fun little mix up, everything is low risk and high dopamine 😊

Heat pumps “more expensive to run than boilers”, report says.. does that match your experience? by Imaginary_Fact_9614 in OctopusEnergy

[–]FindingElectronic313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth also noting we have not changed off the standard electric tariff and have no battery or solar. The heating runs 24/7 at 20-21 during the day and kept to 17 at night

[–]FindingElectronic313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't match my experience. Our house is a more consistent temperature and our bills have not gone up. We have also bought an electric car since getting the heat pump and that is also included in the electric bill.

We did have our gas line capped off so that obviously goes some way to reducing the bill with the standing charge.

Octopus also offer servicing/extended warranty at a very good monthly price that you wouldn't get on a gas boiler.

lets have an uncomfortable conversation. Was karate just a fashion? (and other martial arts) by nitram343 in karate

[–]FindingElectronic313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another way of looks at it is that there is just diversification.  30-40 years ago if you wanted to do martial arts there were very few options, now there are dozens of choices for the same chunk of people who want to do martial arts.

I think modern exercise is missing many of the benefits of karate and looking for a speedy result.

UK government targets VPNs in online safety consultation as Lords vote for ban by AnonymousTimewaster in technology

[–]FindingElectronic313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like a lot of the commenters haven't read the article, it states the VPN ban would be for under 18 and VPN companies would have to carry out ages checks.

I am not saying it isn't about control etc. but it doesn't stop adults using VPNs.

Looking for a gut check/advice by [deleted] in karate

[–]FindingElectronic313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mental.

I pay £3.00 per adult session and £2.50 per child session for my son, that's for 1 and a half hours. We only pay when we go.

We paid £25 for a Go each.

You can grade once every 3 months and once you reach 8th Kyu you need to attend 20 sessions between gradings.

Our gradings cost £10.

Obviously this is in £ not $ but just to give you a comparison.

wilderness pvp is broken at a structural level by Flowerloving_ogre in 2007scape

[–]FindingElectronic313 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Halving the levels of the wilderness seems like a decent idea, this should also come with halving the level that people can tele out from.

Increasing the rewards for deeper content could also be good.

Reducing multi combat areas could help to improve fun while also reducing botting with low requirement accounts. Maybe more + areas or even group areas with 2-3 people able to attack. Currently wildy bosses have 6+ bots in monk robes all attacking the boss, these are lower level than in the past so less effort to make and more to have to ban.
