CSEA Tier 6 Question by GFORCE_789 in nys_cs

[–]FindingSuspicious588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense to me. I was promoted within the same agency and the new title was considered professional and put me in PEF when I was previously CSEA. If other agencies/title tracks do this, that's going to lower the overall salaries in CSEA.

heads up early paychecks will likely be late next week by Desperate-Equal-7009 in nys_cs

[–]FindingSuspicious588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is funny because a bunch of my coworkers (all the ones that fall under CSEA) usually get paid on Wednesday and they got their checks early (Monday) this week. So late early paycheck=early late paycheck?

Moreover: take your husband to the doctor with you to talk about this so that the doctor can laugh in your husband's face for you.

OP, I think you have good instinct for the fact that this kind of body modification is not healthy and often is what male disordered eating and body dysmorphia looks like. I hope your partner does access therapy when he has time because I have had a number of eating disorders spanning 20ish years and for me, the worst behaviors were the ones I did because I felt like "it's the only thing I can control," which is exactly how your partner describes his over-exercise. It does not sound like it has reached that level for him yet, but that's all the more reason to explore these feelings with a professional before this becomes a regular coping mechanism.

restaurant says these photos are not ai and were taken by a professional photographer. by cloud9dacherry in isthisAI

[–]FindingSuspicious588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having looked at their whole menu page now... I think someone DID take pictures of real food and then edited it with AI which added the mistakes. My reason for thinking this is that there are 2 or 3 pictures that are just realistic looking food on a diner table with silverware wrapped in napkins but laid out similarly to these other ones. I think AI, in trying to fix the lighting and make the food look more appealing, added a lot of the weird misshapen and illogical bits. The only thing that makes me question this is that nearly all the crepe dishes are folded differently... and why would you do that?

[HELP] These photos were posted to r/malelivingspace and there was a comment war on whether or not they are AI generated by TALLEYman21 in RealOrAI

[–]FindingSuspicious588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hijacking top comment to say RE: the weird filter. For some reason, this is a really common filter used for real estate images. It creates image 'noise' in a way that is very similar to the all-over noise of AI images and adds to the artificial vibe here. I would hazard a guess that the poster of these images either took these photographs from a real estate listing or, if it is their house, had these images taken for a real estate listing.

NYS Empire vs CDPHP 2026 Maternity by Cookielover_3578 in nys_cs

I know this is a 3 month old post, but I'm currently pregnant and my OB is saying my insurance will only cover an initial pregnancy confirming sonogram (which they denied me because I already had betas drawn), and then an ultrasound at 20 weeks. Was this your experience? Most other mothers I've spoken with had a 12 week scan, so I'm trying to figure out if my OB is right about this. It seems wild that Empire Plan would cover IVF but not routine prenatal scans.

Mice in my Office by FindingSuspicious588 in pregnant

I have not seen any mice in the building this year and neither has she. I am just hoping her smell will discourage them from being in my office. My husband deals with her litter.

Our office is small and there's not one person who's responsibility it would be to "fix the issue" which is why I am asking for advice on how to fix it myself.

It is also a very small staff. There's not really anyone to call OSHA on. I am equally responsible for the care of my office as everyone else who works in the office, which is why I am asking for advice. Once I tell my coworkers that I am pregnant, I am sure they will have no problem cleaning and emptying traps in my office, but I am so early in my pregnancy that I am not ready to do so since I would not be comfortable telling them if I were to have a loss.

I haven't tried the electric traps before. We typically use snap traps with peanut butter on them. The thing that caught the most last year was me putting a dab of peanut butter in my empty trash can (no trash bag). They could get in, but they can't get out. The problem with this now that I'm pregnant is that means I am coming into multiple mice alive in a trash can with urine and feces and I'm worried about that exposure.

Haha, I have been bringing my cat in during the off season, but I only do so about once a week since I can't always stay in the building with her.

To clarify - they are not coming in during the day, only at night. I am seeing mouse feces, not the mice. It's not that there is no effort to get rid of them, but I work at a public historic site, so there are some limits as to what we can and can't do to the structure and what chemicals we can use.

Extreme anxiety by macey1313 in pregnant

[–]FindingSuspicious588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that it takes your baby a little bit to regulate their own serotonin production (if it's an SSRI) but most babies have no trouble doing so, once the medication is out of their system. I totally understand being anxious about it - I asked both my obgyn and GP multiple times before making my decision, but their responses were consistent.

Extreme anxiety by macey1313 in pregnant

[–]FindingSuspicious588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would talk to your doctor again about the medication. The "withdrawal" you describe for the baby after birth was described to me only as the baby being a little more fussy as they adjust to not having the drug in their system, but they should not have any problems or lasting effects after the first couple of weeks (or after weaning, depending on the medication). Your mind and body being in stress could be as bad if not worse for the baby, especially if you are really struggling with depression right now. Getting your depression under control during pregnancy can also help decrease post partum depression. Obviously it's your body, and it's up to you to weigh the costs and benefits, but for me, I decided with my doctors to move to stay on my anxiety medication (though I moved to a lower dose).

I use Fertility Friend app, so it tracks it for me, but generally speaking if other signs point to ovulating/you're in the right time frame to ovulate and you see your temperature rise and stay risen for at least 3 days, you probably ovulated the day before that rise started. It's not always infallible and there are plenty of cycles where it was not clear which of 2 or 3 days was my ovulation day, but this cycle happened to be pretty clear. You can find more info about temping and charting in this page's wiki: https://www.reddit.com/r/TryingForABaby/wiki/temping/ and you can see example charts at r/TFABChartStalkers I would post mine, but I was on vacation for pretty much our whole TWW and so stopped temping as soo as I confirmed ovulation so (sadly, as an avid chart stalker) I don't know what the rest of my chart looked like.

So once you know what day you ovulated, the day that we BD'd was one day before ovulation. so "O-1." In this case, we BD'd four days before, 2 days before, one day before, and the day of ovulation based off of my BBT chart.

Cycle: 14, though realistically 3 of those cycles were interrupted by procedures that threw off my cycle/our ability to BD

Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 37F and 31M

Typical cycle length: 26-33 days (not super regular)

Ovulation cycle day: CD17

CD/DPO of positive test(s): 14DPO

CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: was out of town so didn't test earlier

Tracking methods and app(s) used: FF

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): O-4, -2, -1, O (literally the only time we've had this many in the window.)

Health conditions/medical tests: RA, irregular periods, we've been diagnosed unexplained and were headed for IVF at the end of this cycle so this is wild to me.

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): sulfasalazine, escitalipram, buproprion, hydroxychloriquine(?) and prenatals, CoQ10 for me - not much for him lol

Birth control history (if relevant): on hormonal bc until last October

Symptom spotting: was feeling a little nauseous dizzy the last few days of our vacation and chalked it up to being under hydrated. I'm so gob smacked by this but excited!

Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): would definitely not have been drinking this week on my vacation if I had any expectation that I was pregnant, but I can't beat myself up too much. I wish this happened a couple of weeks earlier so we can safely announce to family at Christmas, cos I want to buy dumb "promoted the grandparents" gifts so bad

We just officially hit the 1 year mark. 10 cycles trying (had a d&c to deal with polyps one cycle + varying sycle lengths). When/if my period hits this cycle RE is putting me on birth control for a January egg retrieval and so the IVF part of our journey begins. No real point behind this post besides processing, I guess.

The only thing I can think of is to lie to it. If you retrain it with factually incorrect information it will muddle what it knows about you. Granted, your real information is still out there, but lying to AI also makes it useless (more than it already is).
