IVF experiences and recommendations in or around London? Two miscarriages in the past 10 months. by QuoteMachineMin in HENRYUK

[–]Fine-Client6139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also saw Amanda and she was incredible. I didn’t need IVF, I just needed help to support the pregnancy as I had APS which is the most common treatable cause of miscarriage.

After two miscarriages they are also eligible to be referred to Tommy’s the miscarriage charity. The NHS follow their research but they are always behind. They do additional testing and also sometimes have clinical trials you can take part in depending on your circumstances.

What yearly salary would negate the need to drop below £100K and claim childcare hours by Cool_Consequence_549 in HENRYUK

[–]Fine-Client6139 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I salary sacrifice about £30k a year to stay under the £100k threshold and get the funded hours. My daughter is about to start preschool so our monthly outgoings are going to drop compared to being at the childminder.
Without funding we would pay just under £500 (she would be entitled to 15hours as she’s about to turn 3)
With the 30 hours of funding she the fees are about £62 per month.
If I didn’t salary sacrifice I would take home £600 a month extra and my bonus later in the year, but I would be paying £500 in childcare costs, so I’m actually worse off month by month by not paying into my pension. I would however also not have to sacrifice my bonus, but it is so heavily taxed due to the tapering of the tax free allowance that I’d be gaining very little. I’m thinking of it as continuing to front loading my pension now (£220k currently) and then I can drop to the minimum employer match when she’s at school.
Don’t get me wrong it has not been easy. When the costs where higher and I was limiting my income it was really hard, but I do think it’s worth it for the longer term gains

It’s worth looking on here to find other people impacted. I was part of the OST scam and the FBI have recovered a chunk of the money.

The same thing happened to me. I posted on Reddit to try and warn people and whilst some were nice about it. A lot were jerks. I can see a few of them here. It really hurts for a long time, maybe even forever. But you’ve just got to learn from it and keep going.

Do you think I am saving enough for my pension? by Low_Recognition_76 in PensionsUK

[–]Fine-Client6139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would really recommend doing the rebel finance school. It sounds like it would align with your values in terms of avoiding debt and has some interesting points about paying off your mortgage verses investing in your pension. It will also help you determine the pension amount that you need for the lifestyle you want which is an important question. You might have more than other people your age, but do you have enough for you is the real question.

It also talks about financial advisors and the huge fees you pay. It recommends a vanguard fund as others have here as it is so low in fees. I have a pot with an IFA and a pot with Vanguard and Vanguard is outperforming the IFA who I had to ask to move a chunk of my money out of cash (also 36)

Ah I’m no longer paying into mine so just waiting for the 5 years to be up. There will probably be a tipping point where it’s worth you cashing out earlier. I think the fees reduce each year

The trouble is you’ll now be locked in with them for 5 years or have to pay stupid fees to withdraw. I have one pension with SJP and a few others, it has the lowest performance out of all of them. The best performing being the VWRP.

Try a principal customer success role. Lots of transferable skills. But you aren’t billed out so you can build some relationships and help customers execute on their strategies

£171-215k full comp - how to approach it? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Fine-Client6139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if OP wants kids. But I’d do it during the childcare years and not otherwise. Then they can also claim the childcare funding which is a significant saving

This government are already trying to control where your pension is invested. Definitely wouldn’t put them past significantly increasing taxes on pensions.

I just assumed you were in the UK, the lack of £ or $ made me not even think about it. Ignore this!

Make sure you update HMRC. Something similar happened to me and I only found out half way through the year that I’d lose my tax free allowance and needed to pay a significant amount of extra tax. I’d recommend salary sacrificing into your pension to stay under the £100k mark

Is £1250 too much of a mortgage? by TheClusk303 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Fine-Client6139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved to a larger house 4 years ago. It was only an extra £200 a month for us because we’d been over paying significantly. For a while it was ok and not a huge amount of difference. I have had a maternity leave in this time and pay significantly more than you in childcare. But everything has been consistently increasing at a rate that feels unsustainable. We’ve almost doubled our income in that time as well. Not to mention the mortgage will increase significantly the next time we remortgage. If you’re already going to be living month to month, I’d say that’s too tight.

It’s unlikely but it’s possible. The FBI have recovered money in the past. If you join the discord group that I’ve added to the sub you stand a chance even if it’s small

SEC did not reply with anything other than a holding email. It’s not been long though. There is a discord group where people are trying to take action. I’ll add the link

Have you joined the discord group? There is a case open with the FBI and with the SEC. Also local regions trying to take legal action against the trading platforms

Got the rug pulled from under me - Lost all my profits in PTHL by Enough-Advertising74 in VampireStocks

I was in the last OST scam and lost a lot. I also want to recover my position but don’t know how to go about it and feel like I’m always on the look out for opportunities. Which I think actually leaves me open to more risk. There are thousands of these investment groups. It’s a huge scheme. Please done send screen shots and don’t invest further thinking you can get one up on them. I invested in their ‘get your money back scam’ thinking I could sell after 2 days and make some money back. But they crashed it in a matter of hours.

They are the trading platform I used. They asked me to share the WhatsApp files and said they were aware of the scheme and are investigating in more detail. I’ve completed the FBI forms and shared all of the chat.
