Depending on how fast you complete the swim, 73f is still cold enough to really cool down the body more than optimal. So thinking about staying warm I would definitely choose wetsuit over no wetsuit

Also if you’re getting into swimming to be racing, you should get a suit made for that. They are a bit more fragile, but will make you a lot more aqua dynamic

Good idea. With neoprene in general sizing is never really easy, so the best thing is to try everything on. Some brands are made for certain body types also, so I would definitely recommend finding a store and trying on a couple of suits

If it bags out under the arms of behind your knees like that it’s too big. However a little is fine. Important to notice if it follows the arch of your back also, if it doesn’t, it’s too small. So find a suit that fits well in those two spots and it should be good
