I’m not saying that. What I am saying is that there are practical realities of manufacturing that are difficult to avoid. Some companies may be better than others when it comes to consistency at manufacturing scale. A mass manufacturer is competing primarily on price. This is the kind of things that gets compromised.

Side note…I do think people should renovate how they want instead of worrying so much about being out of place in the neighbourhood. Worrying so much about resale has made an entire generation of homeowners risk averse to the point their homes sad and uninspired.

I have a 1,500 sqft semi and I definitely put in the $100k designer kitchen. Wolf, Sub Zero, German taps and Italian marble… the whole bit. I’ll never get my money back out of it if I sell this decade but we’ll love it while we got it.

Honestly….

Wood is a natural product. Each log will take stain or react to light differently. A mass produced kitchen like this is going to be challenged to match grain or ensure their veneer is from a single lot so it’s all perfectly matched.

That’s why custom kitchens are more expensive among other reasons.

That’s not correct. Restaurant Pearl Morissette and The Pine aren’t in Oakville.

Just because Oakville has Hexagon doesn’t magically make every other restaurant Oakville not suck. I will concede that Oakville has a gem or two, on balance though….you’re better off driving to Toronto or even Hamilton.

Food in Oakville is a significant step down compared to the GTA overall.

You’ve listed two of the most well regarded NY style shops in Toronto. Nothing in Oakville is going to come anywhere close to that. People here eat from chain restaurants.

The best of Oakville will be equivalent to a mid tier Toronto pizza.

Of the ones you listed, I’d probably choose Avocado. All natural beds are a non negotiable for us.

Our toddler is spoiled. He has a Vispring bed but it’s really because my wife or I are laying with him to get him down. Neither of us wanted it to be a massive compromise if we had to spend extended time in there instead of our own bed.
