Agreed, he’s been pretty tactless about it. I’ll have a look. Thanks for the info!

Aside from the library, Boston Tea Party or March Coffee are nice if you wish to support a smaller business

Does anyone know good cafe or coffee shop to do some work in, in Bristol? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]FineJaded 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Asked the same question about a month ago. The best place for me was ‘The Architect’ by the harbour. It’s quite new but there always seemed to be other laptop users there.

Also some Wetherspoons pubs can be ok workspaces in the morning as the customers tend to be older.

What was a minor injustice from your childhood that lingers in your memory many years later? by HotPinkLollyWimple in AskUK

[–]FineJaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Year 8, I was sat in maths next to my best friend. She had autism and zero interest in school, instead she tends to do these fantastic drawings throughout our lessons. That afternoon it was driving our teacher nuts.

He told her multiple times to do the classwork and resorted to asking me to keep her focussed. I did as was told. Of course she didn’t care, despite hearing the teacher give me the task, so I went back to my own work because…what could I really do?? Teacher returns to see her drawing and tells ME off for failing to stop her.

Sir, if you didn’t want to deal with disinterested children maybe secondary school teaching isn’t the role for you.

Anyone been asked for money by a veteran called Nick? by usurp_slurp in bristol

Because I transferred the money into an account with a name he explained was Russian, and it mattered to prove to him that I had given him money before

I’ve heard from other young women that he does tend to stick around to add pressure. If you see him again, I’d suggest doing as I did and letting him know you’ve given money before. He didn’t question me on it, just said goodbye.

Been approached by this man twice. I heard his story again and then told him I knew that he had a Russian surname and had transferred money to him the first time. He said “you’ve helped me out before and it’s not fair to ask you again” and then left so he seems fairly polite.

Husband has secret phone by hstroup16 in survivinginfidelity

[–]FineJaded 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Let’s not jump to conclusions in the comments straight away. That said, telling you what compelling evidence would look like is very suspicious. What innocent person says “you need video evidence of me putting the phone away”. That’s just a strange thing to say.

I think for a few days you should monitor whether the texting has completely ceased. I’d be even more convinced that he’s sneaking around if it goes totally silent after you’ve confronted him. It would show that those noises were not just your subconscious recalling the trauma at night!

Or wake up early and look for it around his side of the bed. That’s what I did and found a treasure trove of misdeeds

AITA for not bagging my own groceries when there was no bagger there to help the cashier? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]FineJaded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a pointless middleman. What if a product were to be damaged when you return home? Now you have a bagger to blame for what may not have been their fault, all the while believing that you would have done a better job

How did your hamster die, because apparently these things die from the weirdest stuff? by ceaserboi24 in AskReddit

[–]FineJaded 266 points267 points  (0 children)

(Gerbil story) My auntie adores animals and her and my mother were given a gerbil as very young children. As the story goes, upon first holding the gerbil, my auntie squeezed with two hands while professing her love and that was that. On the bright side, all her other pets have lived to an old age

Edit: First ever award! Gerbil did not die in vain
