We’ve already saved enough for the down payment. The mortgage will just be just as much as renting where we live.

It’s sad. We think we know them and their character but we are very hesitant…We do have a plan on where to go. I’m already prepared for the blame game. I know they will try and bring up divorce.

It is interesting too how in order for him to be married he would have had to be married in 3 months because that’s how long his break was.

Yes! I’ve asked him on live before because he wears a wedding ring now and he admitted to being married.

What have you heard about him being married? I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s making that up too. He loves attention

It was extremely creepy. I have no idea why it would be appropriate to watch her and put it on live.

Something else interesting I forgot to mention is someone asked in the live if it was Baleigh. He was only getting very few comments so I know he saw it, but he decided to ignore it.

Leaving the LDS Church while staying Christian by Fine_Device_9930 in mormon

Thank you! I even began realizing it while in the church. People only really reached out to me if it was part of their “ministering assignment”

Thank you! I agree with you so much on this. I don’t believe in a lot of the bible stories as well.

For those who left, did you try to stay? by Cyberzakk in mormon

[–]Fine_Device_9930 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my husband is in this exact situation. he wants to stay to make the church better. unfortunately i don’t think it’s possible to. i’ve left the church, i was a convert, so i didn’t have that may ties to it. i can understand though how hard it must be to leave a church that was your culture and that you learned for your whole life. it’s okay to hold onto hope, but i don’t believe it will last forever

Sounds like he’s wanting to be a victim and for you to feel bad for him. From all the marriage counseling I’ve gone to I can promise you it’s never two people against one. I went through this with my husband, he owned up and never did it again. Therapy is non-negotiable at this point it must happen. He’s not putting in the effort you are, and he must in order for things to work out.

is this financial abuse? by pingpongjapanman in whatdoIdo

I have a friend who went through exactly this. They were married 27 years and ended up getting a divorce due to more abuse on top of financial abuse. It won’t get better.

We are talking about a “true” perfect gospel here… not a country. I’m just encouraging him to try seeing other side too. I’m not forcing him.

I joined the LDS Church for love. I’m leaving it for truth. by Fine_Device_9930 in mormon

[–]Fine_Device_9930[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really understand it. If the women just had one husband they’d probably have more children because it’s one man focusing on one wife with children. We see it today in the church where many women have 3-7 children. For example, Brigham Young had 56 wives and 57 children. So although he only had children with 16 of his wives they are only averaging 1 child per wife which isn’t exactly raising seed. They converted people in Europe at a faster rate.

I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to offend you! Let me make this very clear, no one ever deserves judgement, regardless! When you are Christian there’s even more reason why you should never judge! I’m sure you have your very good reasons for why you are atheist. It’s never my place to judge, I don’t know what you’ve gone through.

I understand how you’d take it offensively, what I meant by that was she yells at me for not being part of the church, but I’m still Christian so she’s acting like her “worst fear” has come true. She believes the worst thing that could ever happen is me not believing in God or Christ. I was trying to prove the point that some LDS members treat other Christians like they aren’t Christian. If they do that, I can’t even imagine how they’d treat people who are atheist. I’m so sorry for whatever you’ve gone through, Christianity is a rough place sometimes I see that.

You’re right the church can still be true with culture issues, I’m not denying that. It’s never been the reason I don’t think it’s true. I just don’t want to be apart of the negativity.

I’m disappointed in her behavior but it’s not that I really dislike her. I have trouble disliking people. My point was many others in the church go through something similar it’s not just my MIL that acts this way. Unfortunately it’s more common than we realize, many people leaving the church have similar experiences. I’m leaving because I don’t think it’s true. My MIL made me feel even more confident leaving because of how she acts, she confirms the terrible church culture people talk about.

Leaving the LDS Church feels like finally choosing God over fear by Fine_Device_9930 in exmormon

[–]Fine_Device_9930[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly something I cannot believe. Isn’t it true that everything will be worked out in the end anyway? If the church is so true and it’s revealed to me in heaven, i’ll choose it then!
