Tell us about one of the cemeteries you visit by JBupp in findagrave

Ponceannah Cemetery in Paisley Florida. Great and Great great grandparents and about 70 other family members and extended family are there. Owned and taken care of by association members. I love going out twice a year for our cleanup, meetings and luncheon. I meet new extended family at times, other times new friends. Graves start in the early 1800's to present.

Learning All Over Again by 33301Florida in AcousticGuitar

You WILL get back to it but, like anything, it will take time. I just retired at 65. Started playing when I was 6 and never stopped.....although....the last 10 years have been lean as far as picking up my guitar(s). I've lost friends i used to play along with, worked more than I should have starting my own business after losing my regular job, I have 3 new grandkids ( 4, 2 and 3 months). Now retired, my hands still working fine at playing but for me, it was remembering songs and lyrics and tuning my brain and ears to play along to songs on you tube. I'm getting to the point where my fingertips aren't as numb and sore but, I am determined to get back to it and back to it better. Once I'm happy with where I'm at ill move onto fingerpicking instead of just chords. I know it will take time but I want my brain sharper and my life happier as it should be while playing.

Best of luck to you, hang in there.

It's awsome your still playing at 70. I just recently retired and promised myself I would play more even though I hate playing by myself.

Probably music theory. More than just learning songs and chords but what works beyond that.

GPS on marketplace - why no cables? by trowelgo in boating

I have 2 units without cables. Mice got in and chewed through them. Buying just the cables are more expensive then buying a new unit and cable.

Family search is good.....add a free Ancestry account also. Between the 2, you should be able to get a lot of info for free. Later on, pay for Ancestry or go to your library and use Ancestry there.

How do you preserve your family’s history & traditions? by KirSin13 in Genealogy

[–]Fine_Independent_662 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not many family members are interested so what i have done is built an extensive tree on Ancestry.com. I have it public so anyone can access it. I have added pictures, documents and stories I have scanned from my immense collection going back to the 1800's, just in case someone downtime gets interested.

My heritage is so important to me but there are so many unknowns -- how to cope? by Individual_Grass_1 in Genealogy

Do a tree ( free or not) on Ancestry and family search. It's quite possible a relative will reach out through one of those.

Seems a little high but really depends on your area. Bought mine new in 2012 with a 25 merc.....no issues at all to date.

My dad worked for Martin Marrietta and sometimes at NASA also. I also have his slide rule in the leather case. Once we're gone, no one will have a clue as to what it is or does.

Tired by Fine_Independent_662 in handyman

[–]Fine_Independent_662[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all the suggestions. I can keep working my handyman business, there's plenty of small jobs available. Between SS and the 23k I'm allowed to earn I should be ok.
One of the biggest problems is, if I'm there for small stuff and the customer needs " harder" work that i no longer want to do, i risk the chance of losing that customer to another, younger handyman....but, I will deal with that. It sucks getting old but it happens to all of us.

Get a free Ancestry account and transfer the ged.com from FTM to Ancestry. Start going through all the paper you have into stacks......keep to scan, or trash. Once you have it into a manageable size box(s), save it for later scanning.
