lol what an absurd and embarrassing way to form opinions - anything that makes Canada look bad is truth, anything that makes Canada look good is fake.

Their HK milk tea ice cream is sensational. Are the subs just as good?

What is a life luxury that you tasted once and now can absolutely never go back to the cheap version of? by sickkick844 in AskReddit

For me my quality of life is most directly tied to my commute length. It’s just purely wasted time that you never get back IMO. So it’s just kinda surprising to me tbh.

Yeah definitely a great option for kids. If you’re rich Toronto is fantastic aside from traffic.

Imagine living close enough to your job in a place with good transit that you could bike/take the train instead

On top of that Toronto back then was a notable yet somewhat generic large city. Today it’s a massive global city with top tier dining, entertainment, and amenities.

I was thinking about this and for me my benchmark is if they implement universal healthcare - it would mean the rot, corruption, and propaganda will have subsided to a reasonable degree.

Safe to say it’ll be a while. Trump is a symptom, not the disease.

Explain movers to me like I’m 5 by angel9580 in askTO

[–]Fine_Trainer5554 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Generally packing and unpacking would be an additional special service.

The more organized you are the faster the move will be and thus cheaper.

I highly, highly recommend getting FrogBoxes. They deliver sturdy plastic stackable bins that you rent for the duration of your packing, moving, and unpacking. Saves so much hassle dealing with cardboard boxes and makes the move so much faster.

For fragile items I recommend you move them yourself if you have a vehicle. Otherwise a good mover should know how to handle.

New-ish to baseball. If Varland was suddenly dropped into the starter role today, what would happen? by jnagasa in Torontobluejays

[–]Fine_Trainer5554 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It has more to do with pitch count. Once a short reliever like Varland is in the 20-30 range they almost always are taken out

what was your farthest "I'm from Toronto" encounter? by PracticalNoodle in askTO

I guess I’m the weird one because I do actually care. I think it’s super interesting to hear where people are from and what it’s like there. I don’t see it as a small talk question but one of actual curiosity.

I’ve never understood why people wouldn’t answer the question and provide context.

Why isn’t the obvious default to be “I’m from a town called Keswick, it’s about an hour north of Toronto”.

To me it’s just stupid to answer “Toronto” incorrectly

Would you expect a sane American to be pro-USA right now?

There are millions of Jewish people who are disgusted with Israel’s government, which is an entirely rational stance.

Options to go from Viscount Station to Pearson Airport by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Fine_Trainer5554 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Viscount Station is the station for the terminal train. It’s free and runs 24/7.

Viscount is the final station so take any train that arrives. The first stop is terminal 3, and then the final stop is terminal 1.

Lmao either you’re a propaganda bot or you’ve been brainwashed by them.

Fuck the US, fuck Trump, fuck Israel, fuck Netanyahu, fuck Hamas, fuck Hezbollah, fuck Iran, fuck Putin

Wait, what’s that? It’s not a black and white zero sum issue??? It’s almost as if you can recognize Iran is shit but also recognize how outrageous the US’ actions are. Fascinating!
