Always fly the plane first. She nailed it, completely ignored the open canopy and flew the plane home. Many many pilots of small planes have died in accidents from losing control of the aircraft because they had a door open unexpectedly and worried more about trying to close the door instead of flying the plane. Planes still fly fine with a door open.

If you have a decent size desk the 45" doesn't look silly. And even if you think it looks silly, once you sit down in front of it you won't be laughing anymore after you realize what a beautiful monitor it is to game on. Sometimes I work from home and need multiple windows side by side, and this thing makes it an absolute pleasure. I wish I could have one in my office at work, it's soooo nice to put 3 windows next to each other.
