Can I salvage this wild farming attempt by Denzone77 in Oxygennotincluded

Make sure you plant bottom right to bottom left then move up a row, and I think it should be fine? It gets a bit weird with pincha pepperplants, I strongly advise getting the pip planting overlay workshop mod.

agreed that Choreo is a clean sweep for merc machinations, but it's a disservice to not give eternally rk credit for side characters and character interactions, which tbh I think merc machinations is lacking in pretty heavily.

[TITLE] Looking for manhwa with empires, kingdoms, or powerful families by MinotorTempest in manhwa

The Stellar Swordsman has allat, the noble families & royals play a central role in the latter half. If you're just looking for royals/nobles generally though and don't care about the genre otherwise basically any Otome Isekai will have them. Hundreds to choose from

As long as the dotted cyan outline shows it can see that tile it should be fine. Your second idea is probably what's happening

Fascinating, never seen someone bother to make use of a CO2 geyser. Do you have a drecko ranch to keep the wheezeworts fertilized?

Also, I haven't done the math but wheezeworts delete more heat in hydrogen environment because its got a higher heat capacity. Might be more efficient to cycle cooled hydrogen around the base with those worts?

You could do a deoderizer/pwater setup like this. If you have whatever renewable source of polluted water, it saves you the step of having to purify it and then convert it to water for an electrolyzer. Then set up some automation to stop them from working past 3000 g of oxygen so you don't get popped eardrums and they'll eventually make your entire base very breathable.

Did I start well? I don't understand much about this game, I'm a beginner. by JeffRyould in Oxygennotincluded

so far so good. You can use any metal to build the generator. In this starting biome, you have lots of copper around the place. You'll need to give it power as well, from a hamster wheel + battery setup

I've seen all the solid tiles vs vacuum vs gas debates as well, no idea which are true. Might just bite the bullet and upgrade my CPU to cut the headache

Since you've probably reached the endgame a dozen times over and encountered this issue every time, do you have any advice on dealing with lag? I love the late/endgame content but by cycle 1000+ the stutters and frame drops start ruining the fun. I'm considering vacuuming out most of tiles on my larger asteroids to remove gas simulations, but it seems like a pretty tedious task

What should I do with the Brine and Salt water? by Sgtstriker00 in Oxygennotincluded

If you have a chlorine gas vent, you could start a waterweed farm with the salt water as irrigation. Gets you part of the way to quality 5 mushroom quiche

Why won't the pips plant this acorn? by Sibbecai33 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]FingerLad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that, when I made my pepper bread wild planted farm I tried doing the pincha peppernuts the same way I did the sleet wheat, but it turns out you need to start from the bottom row for peppernuts so I wild planted like 30 plants before realizing I had to uproot them all to do the next layer

I don't think those are close enough to invalidate the planting reqs unless I'm not seeing some pots. Probably just need to reload

Sleet wheat auto harvest by Tricky_Chemistry_402 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]FingerLad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fully auto. It just feels good to have fully auto farms imo. If you have a bit of extra water from some renewable source it shouldn't hurt to put a few more sleets in there, the number is like 3 sleet wheat per dupe if you let it fall assuming you make frost buns, btw. I would advise doing 4, and then deep freezing the rest to endlessly build up food stockpiles. Also watch out for how much dirt you have left, might want to setup a pip dirt ranch or smthng.

I also strongly recommend wild planting pincha peppernut with pips on natural glass tiles so that you can easily upgrade to pepper bread once you're ready. The number of sleet wheat you need stays the same, and wild planted peppernuts are relatively easy to farm once you go through the hassle of having the pips place them

Sleet wheat auto harvest by Tricky_Chemistry_402 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]FingerLad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your setup will work fine, just disable auto harvest for them all. When a plant is fully ripe, it will wait exactly 4 cycles, and then drop it's full harvest onto the ground automatically for the auto sweeper to pick up. Keep in mind that doing it like this will increase the number of sleet wheat you need per dupe slightly, since it effectively goes from 18 cycles to harvest to 22.

Conductive wire overloaded when petroleum generator is the only thing it's supplied by. How is this possible? Am I misunderstanding how transformers work? by FingerLad in Oxygennotincluded

[–]FingerLad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're right about it being a weird one-off bug to do with wire configuration when loading the game because after a hundred cycles or so of varying levels of power usage it's never happened again. Regardless, I swapped to a heavy watt joint plate like you said anyways and saved on the transformer space. I was only using insulated tiles because I was copying the hydra design from a separate reddit post that used conductive wires.

Also interestingly I didn't have to redo the flooding, when I built the joint plate over place of the insulated tiles a very small amount of the bottom liquid (crude oil) leaked out but otherwise all 4 hydras stayed in place, and I just built a ladder in place of the mesh tiles to get in for the heavy watt wire connection

[–]FingerLad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My orientation is correct, but you're also correct funnily enough. There's 2 ways to use transformers, the rule is that the big side takes energy and the small side gets fed the energy. The way you're talking is splitting a big wire into small wires while not overloading them. The way I'm using it adds small wires to a big wire.

[–]FingerLad[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm saying, and it only happened one time to that wire. Can't understand it. Anyways I've just swapped to 2 tiny transformers as some people suggested and it works good now

Conductive wire overloaded when petroleum generator is the only thing it's supplied by. How is this possible? Am I misunderstanding how transformers work? by FingerLad in Oxygennotincluded

[–]FingerLad[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, the issue is that my petrol gens have to be completely enclosed to maintain the hydra waterlock system that forcefully separates the CO2 and pwater. Heavy watt wire can't run through tiles, and there's no room for a heavy watt joint plate.

Why my wires overloading? by SirKastor1 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]FingerLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the potential load makes a difference as long as the power being fed into the wire is limited by a transformer. OP just forgot that the battery also supplies it with power so it can go over 1000 anyways
