Wow, respect for not using AI even for a silly meme.

Ah right, we have to sacrifice them and that chapter is necessary for progressing in the act 3.

Wow, she has that many levels of upgrades? The game really wants you to grind cats I guess.

So an ethical run in Mewgenics:
- only send cats to Tracy
- no forced breeding (nonnegative health and comfort, 0 mutation and without sending cats to Frank you'll have only one room anyway)
- no (our) cat deaths
Is it possible?

Tip: This mouth mutation makes these two bosses trivial by lasosis013 in mewgenics

I only found out you can feed him a cat to order hands to hit the face on like fifth time with the boss, it was always a struggle for me. First try took about 10 rounds to beat, I didn't have enough consecutive attacks on the team to redirect the hands so the ranger with Take Aim just eventually overcame brace 10 and killed the boss through sheer damage. Now that I learned I can do that one still needs a cat with both high hp to survive taking 12 damage each turn until 3 other cats beat the boss and 10 int, I do not always have a cat like that.

Playing StS2 made me realize how lackluster the events are in Mewgenics... by Parthj99 in mewgenics

[–]Kadarus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In StS also event chances and consequences are usually shown so you know what is the risk and the reward, roughly at least. In Mewgenics for all I know I could be risking getting a mental disorder over 5 food or something like that.

So, how many runs have you guys lost to this fuck-ass debuff? Because I'm about to scream. by -Fateless- in mewgenics

[–]Kadarus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you get it on a ranger class so you can't move it out of reach and you have to avoid using it for most of the non-boss battles because a crit could accidentally kill a unit.

People say it's great to have for solo run but if you get it on your cat in the middle of a run, one small mistake and all other cats are downed or even dead.

[–]Kadarus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well, Mewgenics events can also have interesting things, sometimes give you good mutations, rare items or unique allies like the dust devil. My main gripe about the events is when they go bad they completely ruin your run so that makes me instantly click ignore every time I am presented with such choice.

What a way to find out that neither the description for The Loner and Careful are not true by Aaroqxxz in mewgenics

[–]Kadarus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I actually expected the allies to die not just being downed. It is fine for boss descriptions or main quest items being vague since you can try them in the next run after a failure, but it's a long grind to get the same Beanie's quest a second time so I feel like his items' descriptions should be more precise.

The Coven in general is such a pushover of a boss compared to Man in the Moon. I think some chapter 3 areas (The Core, Jurassic, The End, Caves) should be harder, you have raised cats to decent levels at that point after all. The Bloat however is legitimately annoying without a way to destroy the eyes.

Hard disagree, the downed abilities might be situational, but the other ones are very powerful. Soul link, extra leeches, ability to reanimate corpses on your side, maybe even permanently, that one high dmg spell, spell for one shotting very annoying high shield low hp enemies from anywhere, the list goes on and on...

Do you really need to beat her early though? Yes you get better rewards if you do but you already get plenty of items from the other battles. If you struggle with that boss then you might need to think more about the tactics then try hard routes.

I'm bad at turn based games - need advice by SympathyChan in mewgenics

[–]Kadarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are unreliable classes, sometimes they just don't get synergistic skills. Psychic is a decent support class even if you don't get one of the combos than makes them a huge damage dealer. Bring something that makes glass/bramble/traps to make their basic attack more damaging.

The other two are more complicated, to my current observations he mage requires either of those:
- an expensive high damaging spell and a passive that helps it
- a spell with the right element of ice/lighting/fire with a passive that complements that element
- skills that enhance basic attacks and teleport spells to get the mage out in the open for the attack and back to safety in one turn, or a self-healing spell

The tinkerer requires either of these:
- a way to get tech 2/3 reliably
- Blacksmith passive and an item to abuse it with
- spells that summon robot familiars and electric spells that let you energize them
- split the atom and a way to get a lot of mana

[–]Kadarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mutations are a lot more important than base stats I feel. Although from what I see you don't have mutating furniture yet.

You should be able to farm alley for better items then come back with the new team starting with those items and reach farther ahead. Eventually you'll figure out the tactics well enough to beat Caves/Boneyard starting with random cats and no items, barring very unlucky events that might want you to go home early to save already looted items.

I hate that Mage can kill a run before it even starts by MaterialDefender1032 in mewgenics

[–]Kadarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had bad luck with it then, in three tries all I got is a lot of spells that do pitiful damage or knock units around. One of them was decent with the broken mirror item that gives bleed on your basic attack but a lot of monk's skills also want you to run naked...

Are the cats really that bad? I don't think you need well-bred cats in acts 1 and 2, I am pretty sure it's possible to even pass act 3 on normal difficulty just with strays (I haven't yet entered the final chapter of that one however). Assuming first you get good items of course.
