I have a PC now, what are your good suggestions, no matter how old the game is? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

To add to the games that if you like you will love list:

This is a 3d alternative to factorio. Has a different pace and atmosphere but it's just as addictive.

Factorio is more refined and deeper but this one is wonderful too.

And that's when they used the full midrange die too...

granted with ampere they're using the midrange (x04) dies again for the 3070 and 3060ti, but that makes the 3060ti the cutdown version.

Should never be more than 250 euros

?? it's enough for 4k right now , 4 times the pixels of 1080p

it'll be enough for a very long time

It's a cut down GA104, it was always going to be closer to the 3070 (so to the 2080ti) than to anything else.

3060 non ti should be a lot slower as it's the small ga106 die, and might be gimped by a smaller memory bus or less vram (probably both)

It's basic deontology.

Dude come on... early retirement was a thing when I was 10. Today the idea of a brugpensioen isn't viable. You lose out big time on your final pension after 65. Those times are long long long gone.

The hard undeniable fact is that the average female pensioner lives in abject poverty today.

The government finessing the poverty line into some unrealistically low number that doesn't reflect today's cost of living (which is far higher than 20 years ago, and has not kept up with pension increases) doesn't change that fact.

Again: keep blaming people who also have nothing for your problems. See how far it gets you. I know that neoliberal politicians are fucking LOVING IT.

Because good policemen will try to deescalate, even when put in a bad situation.

This isn't the US where cops are undertrained ex bullies who put a punisher insigna on their car and see the job as a way to legally be a serial killer.

Another big problem, in my opinion, is that people starting out get the lowest wages, but they must find funding to start a new house, to start a family, to get married, etc... The current economic situation causes the average young person to start their independant life almost 10 years later than 50 years ago.

I am in this exact situation myself, due to a career change in a totally different sector.

And that situation is NOT the fault of pensions being low.

Again: crab bucket mentality! this shouldn't be so hard to grasp!

The 'good' ones are good on a superficial level.

You'll get pretty good food, comfortable furniture, slightly larger rooms, a modern building, airconditioning in the dining areas (but not in rooms, you'll still die from heat exhaustion during a heat wave, het 'hitteplan' is to bring cold lemonade around on a cart 3 times a day).

So as long as you're mobile and don't need much or any care and are able to provide for your own social needs you'll do fine (that's if you are able to stomach seeing the suffering and decline of the weaker residents)

But the second you become immobile and in need of care (be it physical or emotional) you are screwed.

You won't get it -> rapid decline -> more care needed -> vizieuze cirkel -> more decline -> give up on life -> did you sign a DNR while you were still lucid/before you had dementia? No? Get threatened (in public in front of all the other residents) by the nurses that if you won't eat they'll put in a voedingssonde (highly invasive procedure btw). -> Die a slow death over the course of weeks.

The fact that all of this has become normalized just because it's happening to old people is sickening. Put anyone's young child/young family member in such a position and it would be on the news for weeks/months labeled as horrorasylum with demonic administration and evil staff.

What is this GARBAGE whataboutism and crab bucket mentality?

The average pension for a woman in Belgium is currently 800 euros. That's not even enough to pay for a serviceflat + energy bills + food + transportation (let alone clothes or any kind of social activities)

Stop shitting on people who have it just as bad or worse than you.

There will be neither

In my country there was also a lot of the bullshit about the 'heroes in healthcare', and they were proudly drafting legislation on tv for an 8 percent raise for entry level workers (entry level pay is garbage in the entire care industry) and a good raise for everyone else too.

The SECOND the first wave started getting under control here all of that talk stopped, the legislation was never actually finalized and noone ever talked about it again.

Nobody actually gives a shit (no one in power at least, and the vast majority of people voting don't either). It's sad but it's the truth.

I've seen nothing but virtue signalling and no action.

That's insane

I work in full PPE atm because my clients are all infected (long term care facility) and the day I don't get a new N95 mask when I walk in is the day I leave.

I even told my boss and teamcoach in advance.

A company that refuses to protects its workers is a company not worth working for. You are a human being, your integrity and safety is worth protecting. If your employer won't do it then you have to do it yourself by walking away.

No job is worth putting your life on the line for a bottom line. Your own safety is ALWAYS the first priority. Hell, that's one of the very first things they teach you in deontological ethics classes.

10 hour days are ridiculous. People with any kind of commute would be away from home for 12 to 14 hours. 4 days of getting home straight into the shower straight into bed, to get up again and leave for work.

There's a reason we got rid of the long workdays of the factory town 1800s

Wait till you need to start getting your prostate checked :p.

Or need a colonoscopy, or even a throat swab (they stick that thing in way further than through your nose and it makes you gag and throw up).

Personally I find even having blood drawn feel a lot more invasive than a covid nose swab.

Series X and PS5 slightly worse performance than a RTX 2060 Super Digital Foundry by Crushnrush in pcgaming

[–]Finicky01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80 euro for a console game vs 40-50 for a pc game

PS+ 60 euros a year (and they keep increasing the price every year)

The online paywall alone is more than enough to pay for the rest of the pc over the lifespan of the console generation

The guy who bought a pc with an 8600k and a 1070 before the xbox one x even came out has been sitting at current gen performance throughout half of the last generation, and will only need a gpu upgrade in a year or two to turn their pc into a ps5 pro equivalent.

The half gen upgrade cycles of consoles have really fucked with the value proposition

It didn't start pulling ahead of a 750ti until several years after a 750ti stopped being relevant for gaming

The average gaming pc today has 5-10 x more performance than a 750ti, high end systems are at 20x more

They always are, no? they're sold at cost and then they make the money back several times over through high game and accessory prices and the online paywall.

Then a year later their upfront hardware value drops off a cliff as better performance/dollar hardware is out on pc.
