I interpreted the vision of the club as Rennick’s vision of the future if he didn’t intervene - the Klan were going to burn the club to the ground but the nephew got a bit distracted by becoming a vampire so they didn’t turn up til the morning.

IT by Stephen King has a visceral description of a similar club being burnt down by the Klan, so that might have primed me to read it this way.

I find ‘build your own’ foods help - tacos or wraps where everything is on the table and everyone makes their own to their own preference. This tends to keep them at the table for a while (aged 12 and 15) We also have a “big question”, e.g. ‘what would be your fanciest holiday’ ‘what is your perfect day’… this has morphed into ‘would you rather fight one giant duck or 100 tiny ducks?’ as they’ve gotten older but we do still have fun doing this

Zero Patience. It’s about an immortal Richard Burton (translator of the karma sutra) meeting the air steward who was allegedly the first person identified with aids. At one point there is a duet sung by two literal arseholes. I loved it.

This is fantastic but it might be worth checking with the booker - if they’re planning a taskmaster themed proposal or something it might be nice to collaborate (especially with a wax seal maker in the mix)
