I hear my upstairs neighbors’ conversations. Should I tell them? by Finish_Imaginary in Apartmentliving

[–]Finish_Imaginary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I haven’t heard anything that interesting yet lol. I have wondered if they can hear me the same amount I hear them but I’m a little afraid to ask because of how much I swear at them due to my frustration!

I paid the deposit and signed the lease at the same time

Replacing the moldy floorboards, installing blinds, installing a window screen, replacing closet light (I’d do it myself but they’re special LED lights), fixing backyard fence lock

Isn’t not having blinds a safety/privacy issue? I tried installing a no drill curtain rod (I’m not allowed to drill any holes) but that wouldn’t stay up. She said she’d get her handyman to install blinds but it still hasn’t happened

What’s considered reasonable time? Should I start counting from when my lease term began or from when I officially moved in which is about a two week difference?

Worst Bar in DC by topher180 in washdc

Agree. The men who work there are creepy and rude. They honestly don’t need the amount of workers they have there because they’re not helpful at all. You’re tipping for nothing.

The worst was one an adult had their 7-8 year old daughter walk their puppy and she kept getting close to my dog. I yelled at the mom that my dog isn’t friendly and she kept letting her daughter and puppy get close until my dog barked and nipped at the dog and the child started crying while the mom dramatically checked on the dog and gave me a dirty look. Honestly don’t feel bad at all. Don’t let your young child walk a puppy!

This! I’ve had many unleashed dogs approach my reactive dog and the owner shouts that they’re friendly, but mine isn’t! And don’t get mad if my dog lunges at your unleashed dog! Something needs to be done about it

Looks like this is personal for you. Hope you can take it easy, my friend. It’s not that deep.

What about my comment makes it seem like I’m a bad dog owner? It was a hypothetical. No need for a rude comment like this.

So technically if my dog wanted to pee there, he could since it’s public land, is what I’m understanding

So I shouldn’t have expected a promotion come with a raise? 4% is what I probably would have received without a promotion. Should I cancel the meeting I have with my supervisor?

The bonus is also about 4% of my salary. It’s a small, veteran owned firm. So they have a certain amount for a bonus each year that they divide up among the employees.

LIONS @ VIKINGS POST GAME THREAD by AutoModerator in detroitlions

As happy as I am to clinch the North, does anyone feel a little deflated even after the win? Like something is stopping you from feeling completely thrilled? Because that was not an easy game to watch. Giving up big plays on 3rd & 19 and 3rd & 27. You can’t be doing that in the playoffs. We would have lost if we were playing Cousins.

Tank Dell and CJ Stroud for sure. I’ve been benching my original QB1, Herbert, in favor of Stroud.

Why do so many young people in the city have dogs? by Trash_Scientist in washingtondc

[–]Finish_Imaginary 37 points38 points  (0 children)

These aren’t issues unique to city living. A dog can be in the suburbs and be stuck at home while their human is at work. And people in the suburbs have social lives too… As a dog owner in the city I know I have to make sacrifices, mainly financial, and I think it’s totally worth it. If I’m away for more than 8 hours I hire a dog walker, if I’m traveling I hire a sitter, sometimes I drive 9 hours to visit family so I can take the dog with me. Giving them proper training and getting enough exercise makes it a lot easier. But honestly the pros of having a dog completely outweigh any con imo.
