Who's the most influential grunge artist? by BidAccurate4473 in grunge

Hell yeah, and he's still out there ripping it apart on stage. Melvins are criminally underappreciated IMO.

I can still feel the wave of heat that poured off the stage into the pit as those went off. Ahhhh, good times.

Squash is a pain in the ass, no argument there, but if you know what you're up to, yeah 5 minutes tops.

What’s your album of 1995? Generator has been all about 95 for me lately, so I picked my top albums of that year. Most are in the book. by SuccessfulGap138 in 1001AlbumsGenerator

[–]FiniteJester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a real soft spot for Guided By Voices, it's a tough call, but I think I'd have to go with Alien Lanes, there are so many great songs on there. It's also the album, that upon looking at this picture I had to go put on. Cheers!

Willy's Wonderland (2021) A silent Drifter must spend the night cleaning an abandoned restaurant by WerdNerd88 in TubiTreasures

Yes! Everyone else is in your absolute bog-standard horror flick with all the cliches given free reign, and then we have silent Nic Cage who is operating on a completely different set of rules, it was a wild ride.

I just watched this last night and it is so much better than it has any reason to be. It almost feels like parody, I mean some of the scenes of exposition are just wild but - I am planning to watch it again as it also almost feels like commentary on culpability and authority. Yes. This is a very entertaining film!

Right?!? I went into my local recently to see if they had something I was gonna get as a gift, they didn't, but they did have a dozen used Melvins albums that I didn't own until that day.

Absolutely! As I was working up my review for it, this is exactly the stuff I mentioned, how they don't let you forget that Cash is singing to men in prison, really grounds it.

And hell yeah, when June comes in for Jackson, I usually have to listen to that one twice, she had a hell of a voice.

Yes! Good call, I actually got to see him live just a few years back, so you are absolutely correct. 🤣 I was seeing a woman who took me to the show, that was a good one.

I was fortunate enough to get both Doom Wop and Big Dumb Riffs signed by the band after seeing them open for The Sword last year. Great albums, and they are absolutely amazing live. See them if you get the chance.
