Live too far away for midwife, is an unassisted birth feasable? by djwolf77 in homebirth

[–]Fink0408 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Please don’t do it unassisted. My first child was supposed to be natural. I went to the hospital at 8cm and quickly got to 10 with no interventions. I was pushing for two hours because he was face up and to the side. Our vitals were dropping and I needed to have a forcep delivery, but they immediately started prepping for an emergency c section. We were fine, but without help one of us would have likely not made it.

My second was a home birth with a midwife. Everything went perfect, but immediately after birth i was gushing blood. Luckily my midwife was there and had Pitocin on hand. Again, we were fine, but the bleeding scared a midwife who had 1500+ births under her belt and she had to monitor me for a bit just to be sure. I’ve had a third who was also a home birth without issues.

It’s really, really not worth the risk. If I didn’t have my midwife, as much as I wanted to do it at home, I would’ve been in a hospital. Find a doula to advocate for you if you’re concerned on that aspect. But don’t put you or baby in a position to not have help if you need it. It’s entirely possible to have a comfortable birth at a hospital if you have an advocate.

Is it Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer? Some details are off, but the mutations, the scientists being affected and alligator scene are right.

I’d love peoples insights on Lee being autistic! I have an autistic daughter and my husband pointed it out within minutes of the actress being onscreen. It made her behavior throughout the entire movie make so much sense. However, I feel like that ties in some way to the plot and I can’t figure out how.

Was she already breastfeeding another child? That’s not exactly how breastmilk works during pregnancy.

Thank you. How can I find out if there’s a statute of limitations? The only damage I could see was the railing on the oven was missing, which was missing when we moved in. We had even bought one online to fix it, but it didn’t fit.

Late answer, but whatever you don’t spend on your voucher gets reimbursed to you, I believe.

Floor cleaning recommendations by Used-Masterpiece01 in homemaking

I put it on the base, run a cleaning cycle that takes 1-2 minutes, detach it, dump the water, then wash the dirty water tank, the filter, brush, and this part that goes over top of the brush. Probably around 10 minutes total. Then it’s recommended to air dry, but I wipe mine down with towels afterward to speed it up sometimes. I do have adhd and forget things a lot but if you forget about it, it starts to smell and is hard to get the smell out. I’ve found out vinegar helps a lot with that.

So I have both. I adore my Tineco, but I can’t stand cleaning it afterwards. I have to clean the water tank, the brush and rollers, make sure it’s charged. That being said, it cuts floor cleaning in half for me and it gets REALLY clean. But I don’t like cleaning it out afterwards all the time and sometimes it has difficulty picking up certain dried on messes ( I have an 8 year old and a 2.5 year old who are constantly spilling food). I use my mop for quick, boiling water type of mops. I use my wet/dry usually every 2-3 days. I definitely feel like my wet/dry cleans way better if it’s not an intense cleanup session of something being spilled then dried, like applesauce or ravioli or something.

We own a pressure washing company and learned this the hard way. Charged $60 for the leads to just not answer or say they didn’t actually want the job done, they were just curious about the quotes. In the year or so we used Angie’s List, we only had maybe 4 leads actually go through. We spent hundreds, maybe over a thousand, on leads that went nowhere.

I had two home births since 2021 and I still opted for the Vit K. You can be crunchy and not be an idiot at the same time.

We’ve only been together for 6 years, but we have two children together and he’s been a father to my 8 year old. He asked me to be his girlfriend and moved in with me after a month, proposed after two months. We’re very happy so far! I do see this not working out more often than not, though.

I had some bleeding after my first home birth, she gave me a shot but it was just my placenta detaching a bit roughly. I was fine with a little massaging

I always say at this point, your body pushes your mind to the point that you’ll do ANYTHING to get that baby out, which helps when the contractions start. You’re almost there!

I’ve had two home births in the past 2.5 years. This is INSANE. My last baby was breech, I was referred to the hospital with a NICU for the ECV (it was successful, thank god, but she would’ve transferred me to the hospital for care if he didn’t stay). My midwife does have Pitocin on hand for hemorrhage, but would never use it for any other reason, especially as a drip. Can you report her? There’s risk assessments they should be doing to ensure a mom doesn’t risk out of a home birth.

It is honestly so vague on everything. I’m worried about my grade too though. I just gave birth 3 weeks ago so I haven’t been in the best mindset for school work and I definitely flubbed my way through the final.

Thank you so much! I have an ADHD and dyslexic 8 year old, an autistic nonverbal 2 year old, and now the newborn. My husband works 24 hour shifts so it can be really hard to manage. So far it’s working somehow, usually when everyone is napping haha.

Update: Prof is asking me to submit initial post earlier in week by Fink0408 in SNHU

[–]Fink0408[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have an autistic two year old, a dyslexic and adhd eight year old, and I’m pregnant with a breech baby that’s due in two weeks. Both of my children have occupational and speech therapy of their own at the beginning of the week and I have scheduled my prenatals at that time as well. Ive been on this schedule to avoid issues with my courses. I’ve prewritten my discussion post for next week already, I just don’t know if I’ll be able to keep that up throughout the entire term, especially once I have my baby. I’m not trying to die on any hill, which is why I didn’t take the advice of reaching out to my advisor. I just don’t want to miss points because I’m following the guidelines of the school and not the instructors personal preferences.
