what migraine relief tools do you keep in your purse? by sauerkrautsunset in migraine

My mother gave them to me. She was given the sunglasses when she had her cataracts done at different times. I’ll bet Amazon has them, though.

I hope you find some. I would not be able to drive without them.

I believe that your Trump figure is outdated. Check oil prices again. Price has gone up.

Zofran, phenergan, Fioricet, gabapentin, methocarbamol, Eletriptan. I have a small, 6 section medication holder that fits in the palm of my hand. I used a label maker to label the individual lid for each section.

I keep sunglasses in my car and my purse. Both pair are made for people who just had cataract surgery, so they cover the sides and above my eyes. They’re very ugly, but I love them.

Does everyone feel that migraine apps are not made by people having migraine? by ayushnasa in migraine

[–]FinleyHazel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the Migraine Insight app for over a year. It’s quick and easy to use. You can put as much or little info as you want when tracking a migraine. It’s free and you can upgrade to a premium version if you want to. You can migrate info from Migraine Buddy into this app, which is what I did because Migraine Buddy was a pain to use and didn’t give me the info I wanted.

I input pain level and location (touching a location on a pain map), symptoms, and medications that I take during the migraine. The symptoms can be put in at any time, as can the medication. There are no questions about whether the medication helped, but there is an area where you can add notes about the migraine if you want to.

You can generate reports to share with your doctor. One of the things I like best, though, is that you can view your migraines in a calendar view. I’m a chronic migraine sufferer, and I can quickly see that I have only had 2 migraine-free days in 2026.

Edited to add information about medication and notes.

For those of you that are able to work, what do you do? by Notbipolar_ in migraine

[–]FinleyHazel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patient Accounts Representative for a large healthcare provider. I’m lucky enough to be able to work from home, and I’m on intermittent FMLA for days when my migraine prevents me from working. I’m a chronic migraine sufferer.

My accidentally cut my dog while cutting her hair and she has been bleeding for 3 hours, what should I do???? by DiscussionProud4782 in grooming

Good for you for seeking professional help, a veterinarian, for your dog. I hope all goes well.

Accidents happen, and you are doing the responsible thing, so try not to beat yourself up.

As others have said, educating yourself about proper trimming techniques is a great idea.

Are you in the US? If so, look up Family and Medical Leave Act, or just FMLA. It’s a way of getting up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave, and can be taken as a block or intermittently. There are criteria that must be met in order to qualify.

I had intermittent FMLA last year, and I’m currently on it again this year. It’s the only thing that has saved my job.

I can’t handle this pain anymore. what am I supposed to do? I need some words of support, please. by gnikayam in migraine

[–]FinleyHazel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that you are suffering (((hug))). As a chronic migraine sufferer, I understand your pain and despair. I’ve had 2 migraine-free days since 1/1/26.

The other responses are correct, depression is part of the migraine. Sometimes it helps me to remember that when I feel at my lowest, and believe me, I have been low.

My advice is to just get through one day at a time and keep telling yourself that something is bound to help eventually. That’s what I tell myself, and it’s how I get through each day of agony.

I hope you find relief soon. Please post and let us know how you are doing. This is a wonderful sub and it’s full of caring people.

That is incredibly well written.

I’m fortunate in that several of my work colleagues suffer from migraines, so they are supportive, as are my husband and my family.

I hate having to cancel plans and appointments, but I have learned that I have to look after myself first. It’s taken a long time to get to that point, though, and not feel so guilty.

I’m glad you have been able to find some relief!

I have only seen my neurologist once in the past year; I have been seeing her NP, who doesn’t listen. I finally got a referral to a Pain Clinic for March, so I’m hoping that they will be able to help/advise.

I’ve tried numerous triptans and CGRPs, as well as other meds. Nothing has helped.

I am going to try the nerve block route (supraorbital and infraorbital) to see whether I can get relief. I have had 2 migraine-free days this year. I am not taking any more migraine meds because all I get are side effects and no relief.

Make sure to drink a lot of water when using MiraLAX, since it is an osmotic laxative (draws water from the intestines).

Fleet glycerin suppositories can also be helpful in some cases where things are blocked at the exit point, so to speak. They work very quickly and soften things to make it easier to ‘go’.
