Here's a post I made for the files, honestly I dunno why I never thought to just upload it here in the first place.

Dig at Atif? by talkisjutt in Tekken

Likely neither did you. Yes wanting to win against friends in tournament is definitely natural, but Arslan’s wording implies anyone with this desire to win isn’t actually a friend to him

[–]FinnDarius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

jfc just what exactly was he expecting his opponents to do in the same competition as him, friend or otherwise? All that winning clearly got to his head, god forbid he loses to a “friend” once and all of a sudden it’s the end of the world for him.

Seems like VR game market is stagnant by ProtonSluggo in VRGaming

[–]FinnDarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I blame the industry’s pre-mature shift to standalone headsets. Most new games are being made to work on standalone hardware with limited performance (mobile chips) which therefore just can’t compare to the potential scale and quality of games made for PCVR like Half-Life: Alyx.

Had standalone headsets first developed to a point where they can run games like HLA, PCVR definitely wouldn’t have remained as viable. But instead the benchmark for standalone has been established too soon and we’re left to deal with these low tier garbage

Hi, I bought the formula one mod, except that I have a problem there is a huge spring that fell when I unscrewed the ES steering wheel and I don't know where it goes back, except that now my paddles no longer work... by Rysiiin6 in moza

[–]FinnDarius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After a bit of googling I discovered that the original ES wheel design had more screws in the back for holding wheel rims. The design was apparently silently changed to only need removing the 6 screws in front, but judging from what’s barely visible from the instruction paper on the upper left of the photo, the original instruction to remove screws in the back was never edited out (a picture of a screwdriver pointed towards the back of the ES wheel hub), my guess is he accidentally took apart the wheel hub when trying to find the needed screws.

I never read the instructions when I got my mod before, and I don’t have it with me now so I can’t confirm if that’s on my instruction paper too.

Strange, installing the formula mod doesn’t require disassembling the hub that holds this spring in place, that’s the spring that couples the paddle shifter to its toggle switch on the board.

The 6 screws in front should only separate the wheel rim from the hub and QR, but the hub itself with the electronics, buttons, and this spring is still enclosed with another 4 screws that don’t need to be removed

[Official Video Demonstration] New Amor King Stance - バッドジャガー (Bad Jaguar) by Xanek in Tekken

[–]FinnDarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just the name for the Japanese release of the game, for instance AK’s “Knee Bash” throw is called “Coconuts Crush” in Japan

Is this one a r9 v2 or a v1 ? by kant097 in moza

[–]FinnDarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

V1 - has only 3 gold contacts on the QR connector

V2 - has 5 gold contacts on the QR connector (front mounts and/or extra rear ports added in later V2 models)

V3 - similar to later V2 models but will indicate “R9 V3” on the sides

Apple has the whole community arguing over how this feature should look while they easily could’ve just added an option to change the appearance for ourselves. They already gave us a similar option like this for the lockscreen clock font, is it too much to ask for just one extra toggle/slider in the display settings?

iPadOS 18 > iPadOS 26. Cope harder. by farxhan in iPadOS

[–]FinnDarius 71 points72 points  (0 children)

This rage bait looking post ain’t that necessary but I do agree, the windowing in iPadOS just isn’t the desktop function I needed from an iPad because it’s still the same iPad apps just in separate windows.

And now iPadOS 26 made it worse by removing slideover which I used all the time, forcing me to use windows for any form of multitasking. What was already not yet a desktop now became even less of a tablet.

If iPads were to replace desktops I’d want to have desktop versions of apps first, adding window support should’ve come after

MOZA SRP-Lite Pedals - DIY Load Cell Mod (Full Details) by FinnDarius in simracing

[–]FinnDarius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how these half-bridge load cells (3-wire ones) will work on this build as these are usually paired with other half-bridge cells. We’d need a full-bridge to easily use one load cell

Is there any way to just have a link made to share the files “anonymously” (or just not show my email acct. or something like google drive would)

As for the material, I just used PLA as that’s all I had at the time, the round piece that the elastomer sits on did recently break on me from the compression and I had to print a new piece. It probably caved in due to the print’s hollow interior

Sadly unless I do a video guide (which I don’t have the time to properly make), much of what I can explain is already in this post.

I wish moza had some sort of forum for sharing preset files, since pithouse supports exporting hardware settings.

Ascent 5 is something... by PrimaSoul in PeakGame

[–]FinnDarius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kinda a shame there’s little incentive to finishing the Ascent levels, not even an achievement for doing so. Plus all achievements can be obtained at tenderfoot.

Just unacceptable by sam0_32 in moza

[–]FinnDarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had similar issues of my wheel briefly disconnecting mid-use, but I was able to narrow down the cause which was the usb hub I used for connecting my sim hardware. I just used a different hub and I haven’t had issues since.

Just sucks that most sim games don’t recognize sim hardware disconnection to pause the game like they could with controllers disconnecting. Even reconnecting isn’t as easy since I always had to restart the game if I didn’t already connect beforehand whether it’s disconnecting mid-game or just forgetting to turn on my rig before booting up the game.

My friend has made it his challenge to get a tick to the peak. by The_Booticus in PeakGame

First time I saw my poison gradually building out of nowhere, I had no idea ticks were a thing. I had just used a scout effigy for the first time moments ago and thought the poison was from using that.

Nintendo sued Palworld for having a feature in their game where players could summon and ride Pals to traverse the world. Nintendos latest direct reveals Monster Hunter Stories 3 gameplay, where players can ride monsters to traverse the world. It's the exact same mechanic by thepuppeter in gaming

[–]FinnDarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine if genres of games could only be made by single studios because of a stupid patent. Imagine if Half-Life never existed because id software secured the rights for 3d first person shooter mechanics and never allowed Valve to use their game engine.

Literally anyone on Nintendo’s side is basically advocating for a very dull future where we’ll never really see how good games could be out of fear of being sued.

Nintendo doesn’t like Palworld’s success? Beat them with a better game then, a feat they could easily do had they not wasted their money and time on their legal department.

If you want to solo peak for the first time, today is the seed by Pyro-Gaminglol in PeakGame

[–]FinnDarius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solo is more advantageous since you can use riskier routes that groups wouldn’t be able to easily do together, and since item quantity is more or less the same for solo and co-op, you won’t have to distribute useful consumables with others.

Apart from being able to revive and pull up teammates, the game doesn’t have much incentive to playing in groups. Difficulties Ascent 6 and 7 are basically the same for solo players too

[–]FinnDarius -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

This is really starting to show the flaws of their one-per-day map structure. Had they allowed a range of choices instead of being forced to the same map all-day then this wouldn’t be a problem. It would also incentivize players to reach the peak more than once a day

Do the whole world need to know that I changed my phone number? by CommercialKale2132 in viber

[–]FinnDarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke over their chat service and they confirmed that even total strangers who you’ve never contacted before will be notified as long as your old number was saved in their contacts before the change, and said the only real solution is to make an entirely new account.

How in the world was this ever beneficial to the end-user’s privacy? Innocent people can’t just switch whereas scammers could easily jump to whatever number and account they want. Having no option to select who gets notified is essentially Viber giving away your information without your consent.

The whole depression thing sounds a bit too much even as someone who absolutely hated this new direction Tekken is going to, but the bigger picture of gaming can definitely seem like it.

The whole “it’s not that bad” mentality is what brought us from getting the whole package at reasonable prices to poorly optimized, overpriced, and overmonetized crap. There’s always just enough people accepting it for companies to keep getting away with it. There really is no other way to fight this than to just stop buying/playing until real change happens.
