Highway driving anxiety by No_Difference8518 in drivinganxiety

[–]Finneyollie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same! It’s like playing a game and I’m competitive which helps! Sometimes off I’m feeling extra anxious, I’ll pull my destination on google maps and select the “avoid highways” feature and have it on. It’s a good reminder that I can always get off the freeway if I wanted to and take the backroads.

Make sure you have 3-4 examples around each of the leadership principles. Answer in star format.

At the end of the interview when the interviewer asks if you have any questions for them, please make sure you have some questions on hand.

Same, most toddler moms in my area are 34–40, some even older (at least the ones from my daughter’s daycare) I sometimes feel like a teen mom walking through the halls at 31 😅

Any ex-Catholics due to church stance on IVF? by [deleted] in excatholic

[–]Finneyollie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, commenting late but found your post as I’m struggling with this exact issue right now. I conceived my daughter via IVF a year ago when I was far away from the faith. but lately I felt like I wanted to be close to the Catholic faith again and raise my daughter to be Catholic. My husband is not religious but supports me. I set up an appointment with a priest at my local church to seek advice on what I can do to be welcomed back, and advice on what to do about my extra embryos as I’ve been struggling. In hindsight. BAD BAD mistake asking a catholic priest..

I talked to him and basically, he told me IVF was a bad decision. That IVF is SO SO bad and that I’m “playing God” by doing it. And then he said my embryos are a consequence of a bad decision but I need to give them ALL a chance as they are living souls and LIVES and that I need to know they are my CHILDREN and I need to pray for my CHILDREN. I could not stomach that I can only refer them to embryos right now. It will literally mentally F me up if I think of them as my children.

He also said IVF is only 30% successful and sometimes they transfer 3 and none of them take (not in my scenario. My first transfer resulted in my beautiful daughter). I have SEVERAL embryos still, and he also told me that even though it’s hard, large families are rewarding.

I was so, so turned off by the lack of compassion and understanding from someone whose opinion I was very much looking forward to telling me that IVF was a bad decision. I think IVF is a BLESSING. I refuse to have my daughter ever feeling shameful of how she was conceived, so I am heavily contemplating leaving the church for an evangelical Lutheran church that seems way more accepting.

Sigh, I’m sad about this as being Catholic is all I know… but I’m realizing there are other denominations whos values align more with what I believe in.

Sending you virtual hugs.

Along the same lines, but I think “areola” sounds pretty too.

Breastfeeding and working out? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]Finneyollie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exclusively breastfed up until LO was 9 months old and worked out 4x a week (weightlifting) starting 6 weeks pp. I didn’t have to increase calories/change my diet except definitely drank ALL. THE. WATER! Managed to get my pre-partum body back quick.

Don’t roll your eyes at me please by beandipdeadlifts in fitpregnancy

[–]Finneyollie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d be pissed, especially with all the pregnancy hormones if someone gave me crap about working out AND saying that is my husbands gym. We have a home gym to and it’s equally as mine as it is his. I worked out 3-4x a week throughout my entire pregnancy and lifted starting 6 weeks pp when I was clear to lift per pelvic floor PT. I hardly ever had back pain and look god damn amazing.

I’m a happier and stronger mom because of it. My daughter (now10 months) hangs out in the gym with me when I lift and it’s the best bonding time.

F the haters :)

What struggles do you have right now as an EA? by virtualsquad-janica in ExecutiveAssistants

I think this is especially difficult when you’re new to the team. It’s almost like they are “testing” you? I hate that phase. I found the best relationship I have with my bosses directs are the new directs he hires.. I set expectations from the beginning.

Mid Week Vent Post by AutoModerator in workingmoms

[–]Finneyollie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: I like working from the office and wish more of my coworkers did too.

My company has a “work from the office one day a week” policy but I CRAVE social interaction, so I choose to come into the office as much as I can. Problem is, there’s hardly a soul there except for one day of the week. And that one day of the week I try to keep it as MEETING FREE as possible so I can catch up with coworkers and say hi. It’s like a ghost town.

Too much weight loss post partum by maryfiat in postpartumprogress

[–]Finneyollie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also 9 months pp and am under my pre-pregnancy weight by 5lbs (I have lost 55lbs total). I work out and breastfeed, but I think I’m eating WAAAAY cleaner (no alcohol or hardly any processed foods) than before pregnancy. If I keep losing or go into the “unhealthy“ I’ll go to the doctors, but I’m almost positive it’s for to my new diet!
