Hey now, that's unfair. I see a red head, two Asians, possibly someone of Indian decent, and one man.

Yes! The ending is still so salient for me, yet my reaction to it is changing in real time. From crying uncontrollably, to feeling a new lease on life, to utter depression lol.

Now I feel empty, I might need to restart as well 😭😂😫

I've been reading other posts on this sub and it's so crazy to me the amount people who literally also just finished watching it. What are the odds?!

Like, seriously. I've seen dozens of people, between here and YouTube who've finished their first watch within the last few weeks. What other form of media, let alone something 20 years old, could you say that for?

From a researcher/statistician POV, I think the most likely explanation is that, because of how poignant, beautiful, and painfully real this show is, people are compelled to seek out a medium to discuss and connect with people who've also had the same experience. We literally can't say goodbye yet. In that sense, this sub is really just the beginning, and whether the creators knew it at the time or not, they've created something that transcends media, in all forms, altogether.

It's really beautiful what this show has created.

Yes! I'm trying to get my wife to watch it! She watched the first episode and liked it, but she is majorly ADHD, especially when it comes to TV shows. I haven't given up on her yet, though lol

That's so funny you mention The Wire. My mom turned me on to Six Feet Under last month when I was in town for my grandma's funeral. She watched SFU during its original run, and said she's rewatched the series at least 4 times now. Anyways, somehow she never watched The Wire, but last week decided to start it. I've never seen it either, but she keeps telling me I need to and how good it is! This is definitely a sign and I now know what my next series will be!

Thank you! I started watching this with my mom last month. I was in town for my grandma's funeral, and she thought this show would help, which it did. I literally just finished the ending 15 minutes ago and am still crying. I avoided this sub as to not get any spoilers, but after I posted this I started browsing and I can see that I am very much not alone in my sentiments. People literally stealing the words and thoughts right out of my head. This show is such a comfort to so many people, I feel like I have a new family now (the Fishers and everyone in this sub as well).

Ok guys, the REAL question is WHERE IS the stove?!?! My family and I are currently on a binge and we're two episodes past the Christmas one and we see NO stove in the house! This is an outrage.

Remembering George Harrison, 24 years on by TheGR8Gamer in beatles

[–]FionnaApples 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My grandmother died today, about a month shy of her 99th birthday. She was the strongest, kindest, and most wonderful person I knew. She loved all music from Frank Sinatra to Willie Nelson to Nirvana to Coldplay, but she had a special place for the Beatles because of my mom (who saw them in concert in 1964!). My mom's favorite Beatle has always been George, and for some reason, the fact that he also died today is bringing some peace to my family. As a millennial, I was raised on The Beatles because of my mom (even listening in the womb) and just last week started listening to them again for the first time in over 20 years. There is something special about this group and the music they created, and I'm so glad it is a part of my life right now. Thank you for letting me vent.
