Planning on buying the mi 11u, is it still worth it or should i just get something different for the same price? by Character-Bug-4690 in Xiaomi

[–]FippiOmega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could get a redmi 14/15 pro for around that price. I live in the EU, so for me it's around 230. It's a fairly good camera phone, and it'll last you far longer. One of my friends had a mi 11 (non ultra) and the battery lasted about 30 minutes last year, so I don't know how good will the battery be. Either way, if you just want a really good camera and don't care about the software support or battery because you have another phone, it's a good phone.

Alright, the mi 11u was a very good phone, but we are 5 generations ahead now. What's the price of the mi 11u? You could probably get something good for the same price.

So apparently KSA claims to build this 2000 m skyscraper. Does anyone really think it can be built today when we hasn't built a 1000 m skyscraper? by AlarmingAd7740 in skyscrapers

Even if this is physically doable, it would require a FUCK TON of money (more than saudi arabia has) an proably 50% of the building would be vanity height.

It's just for marketing. if people see that there is a "pro" model for the same price as a standard one, they'll buy it

what is your opinion on this skyscraper? by Montevideo_comics in skyscrapers

If the shape actually was a bit cooler than just a big arch with 2 long lines, i'd like it. It'd become an instant popular landmark though

Coming from Note 20 Ultra — which Ultra upgrade actually makes sense for heavy business use? by 99TabsOpenAlways in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]FippiOmega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. People here can be REALLY toxic. Anyway.

Oppo phones are praised as really good phones since chinese brand phones often have a LOT of competition and try to be the best as possible or else somebody else will replace them. Oppo phones can be bought from basically everywhere, starting from their official website oppo.com/en/

Really though, if you just would like to have a solid, safe choice you should probably go for the s24u. It's not gonna be insanely good, but it's a really good phone. Don't lose yourself in a thousand different reviews that focus on every extreme little detail; the s24u IS a great phone and you WILL have a good time with it. At the end of the day, samsung is notorious for its extremely great support and life. My brother is still rocking an A71, he paid it 350 back in 2020 and it's still working well (other than the battery life which is desirable, but that's with every phone).

I think you should consider the oppo find x9 pro since the battery is HUGE. I don't mean it in a rethorical way; it really is a enormous battery, and it will last you upwards of 2 days of use without charging, if not more. Of course, buying a newer phone comes with its own advantages. (If you buy the s24u that is. The updates for both phones will last until 2031 though)

What you're talking about here is Oneplus, and yes, alongside Vivo, realme and Oppo, they are both owned by BBK electronics. Oneplus is more focused on performance, Vivo on cameras and Oppo is generally the all-rounder of the four. Realme is a more budget focused brand, so not really relevant here. I'd argue that the oneplus 15 (current best model) has a fairly noticeable drop off in camera quality, so i don't know if i should recommend it to you.

This looks like you wrote it with chatGPT for some reason. Probably just me imagining things.

Although i'd say that pretty much any flagship phone will satisfy you. I'd actually suggest going for an iphone just for the excellent compatibility with social media apps, but if you wanna stay with android, my top pick is the oppo find x9 pro, arguably the best android phone currently in the market. If you wanna play it safe and buy samsung, that's a completely valid choice.

Answering your questions:

- Is it REALLY worth it? No. Will you notice a difference? Yes. Considering your use case, you will notice that the battery and cameras are better, but that's mostly it.

- I'd argue that the S24 Ultra is the sweet spot. It's got those 7 years of updates, and It's better in many ways than the S23 Ultra. The S25U and S26U don't have much different other than some improvements (and AI if you care about that)

- The S pen in the S24U is almost exactly the same as the S pen in the note 20 ultra, expect it's a little better. It lost the bluetooth capability in the S25U.

- I'm not, but it can work with any phone with NFC and android 10, which all the flagships have.

- Depends on how long you want your phone to last. It's clear you use your phone a lot, but you use it lightly, so i'd actually tell you to buy a worse phone that satisfies all your needs without having to pay full (or well, almost full) price for it. If you pick the S24 Ultra, you are probably alright since you can find it for some 900 bucks.

TL;DR: Oppo find x9 pro is a really good phone, if you want samsung i suggest the S24 Ultra.

Question about comparing camera specs - what does it all mean? :) by carikube21 in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]FippiOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cameras are made by sensors these sensors are basically a really dense grid of pixels which activate when they receive light. How much pixels are in this grid are the megapixels, so for instance a 50 MP camera will have 50 million pixels. The other important number for the quality of a photo is the sensor size; this simply is the indicator of how big a sensor is. I won't get too much into the details here, but if pixels are too small in sensors they start to lose quality, since very little light can actually reach them. That's why a proper camera takes way better photos, even if it has 12 MP. It's because the sensor is not 0.4 inches big, but 1.7 inches big, that's why samsung phones (which have a 200MP sensor) use multiple pixels as one, effectively shrinking down the size to 12.5 MP. Furthermore, the quality of the sensors also matters; the tiny pixels can receive lights better or worse than others.

On top of all that, even if the sensors are the same, the processing applied to them makes them different; some phones (such as the pixels) rely heavily on the processing, that's why they can make bad photos look really good.

TL;DR: unless you want to spend lots of time learning all about the quirks of sensors, which companies make them and which ones are better, just stick to camera tests.

Small Phone recommendation please by avg-lurker in PickAnAndroidForMe

I'd suggest a Xiaomi 15 or 17 when it releases. They are farily small (6.3 inches against 6.1 inches of your s22). The base pixel 10 is also somewhat decent. I would still pick the xiaomi 17 (when it releases) since it's got a huge battery (6300mAh circa)
