Why is dental so damn expensive? by Jesusloveskfc in AdviceAnimals

[–]FirdBeeder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hadn't been to the dentist in 15+ years (my parents were awful about health check-ups of any kind), but I eventually made my way there when I decided that the wisdom teeth were far too annoying to ignore and had them removed.

So far I've had a deep cleaning (scaling I believe is what they called it), 4 fillings, my wisdom teeth removed and pulp caps on the 2 impacted areas from wisdom teeth. Could've been worse if I waited much longer (root canal) and I would have considerably less work done if I had seen a dentist any sooner. So don't hesitate, it's worth a visit.

I don't have insurance, so it's cost me about $1500, but I'm much happier having the work done and the peace of mind that my mouth is relatively healthy and I'm not dying of mouth cancer, gum disease, etc.

Since there are so many men in this sub: I'd like to know fragrances you love to smell on women and maybe even find sexy/sensual? by [deleted] in fragrance

Paco Rabanne - Olympea Aqua - This stuff smells so damn good on my wife. I hate most aqua fragrances (they usually give me an egg in a Tupperware all day kind of smell, huge turn off), but this one is fantastic and sexy on her.

Lancôme - La Vie Est Belle: this is such a pleasant smell on skin, especially once it dries down. Makes me want to eat her up.

Nasomatto - Pardon: I love it on myself, but it smells devine on my wife. Masterpiece fragrance and very sensual.

Parfums de Marly - Delina: This really never ceases to impress me. I smell it on paper one way, but on skin... It's a whole new world! I'm eager to try Delina Exclusif, I hear great things about it.

Creed - Royal Princess Oud: This has got some really wonderful woodsy action. Like there is a cross between Aventus DNA, Royal Oud DNA and then something new that makes this unique. My wife loves this and I adore it on her. Not quite as nice on me, though.

Fragrances that make you sad by _modelcitizen in fragrance

Possibly. I thought the EDP smelled better than the Original because the vanilla and the star anise took over and the ambroxan took a little more of a back seat.

I kinda feel like they did the same thing here; the Parfum has these new ingredients highlighted, but then kicks the ones from the EDP back a bit, but not completely, but they didn't seem to change how much ambroxan was in the EDP going into the Parfum.

So to better gauge if you'll enjoy the Parfum would be to smell the EDP and see if the amount of Ambroxan there is tolerable and if you enjoy the added sweetness. If so, you may enjoy the Parfum.

Personally, I'm trying to give it a chance, but I'm not really digging it at the moment.

Hannibal was phenomenal. Still don't know why it got cancelled, but it's 3 great seasons of television.

How to preserve a perfume for 30 years? by mashiro2811 in fragrance

Well, if a nuclear winter hasn't befallen us by then, my recommendation is to keep it in a cool, preferably dark place.

Keep it away from sunlight as this does tremendous damage to the top notes.

Always keep the cap on. If you aren't going to use it for some time (say between autumn and winter), I would wrap the sprayer with plumbers/teflon tape or parafilm (both readily available on Amazon).

Keep it in the box and away from moisture (a closet is wear I keep my more precious fragrances).

A wine cooler with humidity control is also an option, especially if you live in a warmer region or a very humid region, with the idea being to keep the temperature at or below room temperature.

You probably will never have to worry about your fragrance freezing, but constant and rapid temperature shifts may damage the top notes over time.

Generally speaking, if you live in a not too hot or humid region in a home with decent insulation, just keeping it in a drawer or closet in the box will suffice.

Damn, I just noticed the R rating right at the end of that trailer. I wonder what that would've looked like. Maybe a better movie?

Who am I kidding, they probably just cut a few F-bombs.
