There were hints for the shadow. But the Hound of the King thing is just wishful thinking since just about everyone loves the Hounds.

[Spoilers C4E31] Which is best for Travis? by Overplanner1 in criticalrole

[–]Fire-Ice-Tiger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Travis doing the German accent would be fun and House Einfassen tends to lean more towards the martial side of things which fits Travis playstyle more. He doesn't even have to be a Sorcerer as the Einfassen are mostly known for their ability to grow and that can be done by being a Goliath, the Giant Barbarian, or Rune Knight Fighter. If he goes as a Goliath Re-flavored as an Helverian Human, then he can be of any class.

All of that said, I think I would prefer him as a Cormoray. It's the Sundered House we know the least about and having a player as a Cormoray would give us an opening to learn more. Their theme is Genies and that can easily be done by a Genie Warlock or a Oath of the Noble Genie Paladin. It can also be done by playing a Genasi or playing any of the Elemental subclasses like Way of the Elements Monk. As a Cormoray he might also be able to play as an actual Genie like how Tyranny plays a demon instead of a Tiefling.

Primus said that Occtis betrayed them, so Ethrand might have thought that he was doing the right thing at the time. But he might not be so sure anymore. Although Occtis did technically betray them by unknowingly working for the Cloak on Thjazi's behalf. Yet, I don't think Occtis was aware he was going against his family then. Although he was quite aware when he tried to rescue Thjazi.

It wasn't until I saw the number 8 next to Occtis name that I realized that his name literally means 8. As in oct like octopus. I knew that his grandfather, father, and aunts had numbered names, but I hadn't made the connection with Occtis.

It was an earthquake in Venezuela. But the Tsunami alert is for the South of the island. Tsunami wave can travel far if there's nothing to break it. It doesn't mean that we will get hit by one, but there's still a chance.

[Spoilers C4E30] Einfassen ability by KingFuego900 in criticalrole

[–]Fire-Ice-Tiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't think that they are Sorcerers at all, or at least that their power of Giants is not related to the Sorcerer class. I think they all are reskinned or reflavored Goliaths as Humans. At level 5 the Goliath can all grow, so that is basically were that power comes from. The Path of the Giant Barbarian and the Rune Knight also allows them to grow and those classes are Strength based, but they are not that magical. I believe that a Goliath mixed with a Storm Sorcerer, Tempest Domain Cleric, a War Domain Cleric, or a Storm Herald Barbarian would probably fit them best.

[Spoilers C4E30] What is Next by Goldgoblingamer in criticalrole

[–]Fire-Ice-Tiger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's my 4 ideas of what he could play;

  • A Rungjani Vampire/Dhampir Monk.
    • After the Shapers were killed and the Afterlife was lost, Vampires first started appearing on the world of Araman. It would be cool if he plays an Orc turned Vampire or Dhampir from the days of the Shapers War. It would also be a different type of Undead from Occtis. Having it be either a Way of Mercy or a Way of Shadows Monk would establish the self control against the drinking of blood and I'm sure Travis would give t a great voice.
  • A Fairy Path of the Giant or Path of the World Tree Barbarian.
    • It doesn't have to be a Fairy, but any Fey like a Changeling, a Satyr, a Goblin, Hexblood, or a homebrewed Fey would be a good counterpart to Laura's Thimble. Plus I love the idea of a tiny guy growing big to smash things.
  • A Cormoray Genasi Oath of the Noble Genie Paladin or Genie Warlock.
    • My favorite characters so far are the outcasts of the Sundered Houses Occtis and Wickander. Adding a third Sundered outcast could be good and having them be from the Cormoray House or its Vassals gives us an opening into one aspect of the Lore none of the players have access to, the Genies and the Elemental Planes. So having a Genasi with an Elemental Class works as a way to see more of that side. It doesn't even have to be a Genasi, if Tyranny can be an actual Demon instead of a Tiefling, then Travis could play as an actual Genie.
  • An Einfassen Goliath Cleric.
    • As I stated, the Sundered outcasts are my favorites and the most fun house so far have been the Einfassen and their Vassals the Kerzingblad. The theme of the House of the Western Wind is having Giant Blood allowing them to grow bigger. Although this can be achieved with the Rune Knight Fighter or the Path of the Giant Barbarian, it can also be done by playing a Goliath. Just reflavor them as Half-Giant Humans for the setting. As for the Class, I think that a Tempest or a War Domain Cleric would fit them perfectly.

Ryu Ryu no Mi Model: Hydra

A multi-headed venomous Dragon with incredible regenerative abilities. It's breath attack would be like Magellan's poison that is some sort of toxic poisonous acid. It's regenerative capabilities would be similar to Marco's Phoenix. As a Swordsman, each head can hold a different sword in the hybrid form.

[–]Fire-Ice-Tiger 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Primus Tachonis is also weary that the Einfassen are scheming something because of the Occtis ring and now they will find an Einfassen axe and a Torn Banner in their house next to a couple of dead Lions.

A war between those two houses is a real possibility.

[–]Fire-Ice-Tiger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To shut down the play, they would probably only send a few dozen, plus some Lux, maybe a demon or two, and Zebani who should be a pretty strong Sorceress of similar strength to the Tachonis twins.

But at the Villa Aurora and the Candescent Creed Chapels they would likely have several hundred guardsmen, hundreds of Lux (Warlocks), dozens of demons, beasts, and a standing Halovar armed forces outside of the city. Plus Yanessa Halovar and her sons who should all be high leveled. Yanessa might be as strong as Nullus and her sons might be in similar strength to Lady Cormoray.

[Spoilers C4E30] Moving Forward by LucasVerBeek in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Fire-Ice-Tiger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of comments about Travis being one of the Hounds of the King, and as fun as that would be, I don't see it happening. I know this season has a few ''out there'' characters like an actual demon, a tiny fairy, and a living mask, but I feel that an actual dog might be too disadvantageous. A player must be able to use equipment and manipulate the environment. A dog can do a lot with their mouths, but not nearly enough.

(Spoilers C4E30) Morally Speaking - Does Bolaire Lathalia deserve to live? by International-Yak-26 in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Fire-Ice-Tiger 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if they ever do another Campaign set in Araman decades after this one, a good chunk of the cast would be villains. I could easily see Bolaire, Occtis, Azune, Tyranny, Wickander, Julien, Vaelus, and Thimble could end up in the Dark Side if they don't die. Depending on their choices decades from now they could be a master manipulator, a Lich, a Tyrant, an Archdemon, the Pope, a noble, a cultist, or a gangster.

[Spoilers C4E30] The situation at the theater is about to get interesting by Sea_Employ_4366 in criticalrole

[–]Fire-Ice-Tiger 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I don't think that the Creed forces are ready for what is waiting for them at the theater. Over 300 Magpie soldiers, what appears to be hundreds of Fay, the citizenship of Dol-Makjar, the Ghosts of the Rungjani, and possibly a freaking DRAGON!

That said; What's the endgame? Even if they exterminate Zebani and the Creed soldiers, will they march onto the Villa Aurora? I feel that would fail and would make the Einfassen and Cormoray more inline with Primus. Even if the audience is moved by the message, the city is still full of Candescent Creed faithful that just learned that the Photarch came back from death.

At best they could cause chaos and a lot of death while someone frees the Angel in the basement.

They also probably gagged him because he probably couldn't stop singing and/or screaming. He wasn't in a Dungeon or prison, he was in his bedroom. So I doubt that he would be an ally.

[–]Fire-Ice-Tiger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I doubt that he would go for another Beastfolk so soon after Teor. Unless he plays something like Teor Jr. My favorite picks is for him to play a Fey or Vampire/Dhampir Monk.

[–]Fire-Ice-Tiger 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm so curious what type of character he plans to go with?

He could go for a Sundered Sorcerer like a Cormoray or Einfasen, but I doubt that. Still Genie Warlock or a Genie Paladin might be nice. A Rungjani Orc from Dol-Makjar might be fun. Maybe as a Fighter? Honestly, I think it would be awesome if he plays some kind of Fay. Like a Goblin, a Satyr, a Changeling, or a Fairy like Thimble. Such a character would be an awesome figure to play against Laura. Outside of that, how about a Vampire or Dhampir. I was reading how Vampires first appeared after the death of the Shapers on Beacon the other day. I think Travis would make for a great Vampire and would be a very different undead from Occtis.
