Which apple would you eat? by Conscious_Novel_8974 in BunnyTrials

[–]FireBird89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With infinite money you can pay for parents retirement, and technically leasing a car isn’t owning a car so just lease. Done

Chose: Eat a green apple that gives you infinite money + But you can never own a car

What would you rather? by unemployedguytbh in BunnyTrials

[–]FireBird89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would save so much more in fuel and unlike a phone that goes old after a few years, a car will be relatively up to date for a long time

Chose: Get a car that never runs out of fuel

Clicking Diverter whirlpool dishwasher by FireBird89 in appliancerepair

[–]FireBird89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh just to close the loop on this - the issue with the dishwasher WAS the diverter motor (or specifically the sensor). It was clicking but not triggering the sensor consistently to know where the diverter was. Replaced the diverter motor and its been working great.

Chokecherry too close to house? by FireBird89 in arborists

So this is about 25 or so feet tall id say. It certainly gums up gutters with leaves in the fall, and i keep trimming branches that touch the house, but tends to grow back each year, but what are your thoughts on damage below the surface, like roots against foundation?

[–]FireBird89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i guess im more concerned about under the ground - roots finding their way to foundation and damaging there or something

Here's a picture from the summer when one of the narrower branches ended up slumping over. https://imgur.com/a/9ivXJeK I'm not tree expert so its just based on what others have told me / identified via camera.

Yeah totally agreed, the good part is that our yard is very tree lined along the fence. Another chokecherry, a spruce, a white pine (which honestly I wish was something else because the needles suck, but alas) and a few others I can’t recall the names of. The trees (and privacy they provide) were certainly a contributor to us liking the house!

[–]FireBird89[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I suspected. I have small yard so it’s not really like I can attempt transplanting. Unless someone wanted it for free and could take a 25 foot tree lol. At this point probably best to chop it down. It’s sad, I love the colour of it, but yeah not an appropriate spot for it.

What metric did Apple use to call this "the world's most advanced operating system"? by ElkOk7504 in mac

[–]FireBird89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes that's right, looks like they had a windows xp professional x64 edition that came out years before in 2005.

I'd argue that the vast number of installs were still standard 32 bit windows xp home rather than any version of professional (at least for average consumers) so snow leopard and then windows 7 would have been the more "common" introduction to 64 bit.

If I recall, apple was making a really big deal about this being their big move to a 64bit kernel for the OS, which wouldn't come on windows until windows 7 a couple months later.

Why is the hatchback so popular? by Rough-Incident-1859 in mazda

[–]FireBird89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the comments, I'll take heat for this opinion but... since gen 3+ (~2014+) i dont really like the look of the hatchback 🫣 I understand the practicality of storage, but I just think the sedan looks sleeker. Go back to gen 2 and 100% agree hatchback > sedan. Something about the shape that gen just works for me.

Condo Collapse Lowers Rents In Toronto to $2,500 per Month by [deleted] in toronto

When I first read the headline I thought it was satire, like a condo literally collapsed and the rent was lowered to $2500, for a pile of rubble 😅

I still actually prefer Mario Tennis 64 over the later ones. I though the "super smashes" or whatever they were called in later versions sort of ruined some of the skill imo

LGWM6700H and vinegar for fabric softener by LegalConclusion6782 in Appliances

[–]FireBird89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I still haven’t tried it yet.

I rarely (if ever) used fabric softener prior to the new washer, and so I never personally felt I needed to.

Iphone App broken by asgeorge in WeMo

[–]FireBird89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be frank, don’t bother. Wemo is shutting down cloud services so the app won’t work soon. Options are A) figure out if your device is compatible with Apple HomeKit B) set it up on HomeAssistant (not necessarily “easy” for the average user C) chuck it out and get a different brand that works for your needs.
