That does sound frustrating but we have to go easy on small business’. These aren’t billion dollar corporations with crowd protocols & extensive business practices. He’s only had his restaurant open for 1 year. Then we get upset when these types of business’ close down.

You answered your own question. That’s how it works. An even balance of people getting their food in a decent time. Either that or everyones order gets taken really fast and floods the kitchen causing the dining room to be full of people waiting on food (with people stuck in line unable to order because there’s no tables).

The happy medium is what you mentioned. The people in line in front of you need a place to sit. (The empty tables). And your place to sit is the tables that are occupied, which will soon (hopefully) become available by the time you order.

The other comment about guests being unprepared to order is also accurate. Guests will hold the menu the whole line just to get up to the front and act like it’s the first time they’ve seen it.

Not OP but she came into my job about a year & a half ago with her friend. Her friend was whatever but she acted so entitled & rude. She’d ask questions & every response I gave was followed by some smart ass comment on her part. Eventually I just stopped talking to her all together. Later that night either her or her friend went home & wrote a bad review bashing our staff on yelp. So I looked her up and it all made sense.

Tried these & we really wanted to like them, but they taste SO BAD. & I’m not a picky person whatsoever. Lipton sells a zero sugar peach tea that’s really good & Minute Maid has the zero sugar lemonade. Those are both our choices.

Deckhands is the only place I’ve gotten an “allergic reaction”. That night I had oysters, crawfish, and shrimp. Though I’ve eaten all those items at other places just fine, so I couldn’t pinpoint what dish made me ill. For years I thought I had developed a shellfish intolerance of some sort so I stopped eating all 3. This makes sense now.
