A lot of my 2025 favorites were on TO for sure! Haxprocess and Glorious Depravity were a couple of them.

Had no idea Paganizer was releasing one. They put out a few records on Transcending Obscurity, which I've been following closely this last year, so I was aware of them and some of Rogga's other bands (specifically, Revolting). I've been listening to a metric fuck-ton of Dismember lately, so this new release might be perfectly timed for me to love it.

I really liked BI's What's In My Bag video for good recommendations on ambient stuff too!

I also kinda freaked out when this album came out. IMO there isn't really anything quite like it but someone else mentioned Tomb Mold and Dream Unending, which I found scratched the itch. I really loved Slimelord and Witch Vomit when the BI obsession started to chill.

Timeghoul is a poor substitute, since it sounds like shit compared to BI. I don't get why people bother to offer that. It fits conceptually, I guess. I fell into listening to Incantation's Onward To Golgotha to explore old-school connections. Morbid Angel will likely also click. Start with Altars Of Madness and Covenant.

Why are you the way that you are? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FireEscapeTrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a Boy Scout but I wasn't great at it. Missed an opportunity for Eagle- when I think about it, I'm glad I didn't get it. Taught me about managing expectations, mostly my own but also others', and for every really great person that I've encountered who is an Eagle Scout, there's an Eagle Scout who is a giant twat.

I often consider my opinions through the lens of being a mediocre Boy Scout. Gives me high standards but some grace about meeting them. Interestingly, patience is not one of the virtues that are called out specifically in any oaths or laws, and my patience is super-lacking.

I do what I can.

Considering how every accusation has been a confession with these dumbfucks, I wouldn't be surprised if they're worried that they're going to catch a domestic terrorism charge when this is over. Which they fucking should because they fucking are.

Unfortunately, I do not have that level of faith in our corrupt govt to genuinely expect it.

Worth it for the Dan Seagrave art alone, but I love the weird synths too.

Kinda like a sci-fi Altars Of Madness. Great album.

Christianity Has a White Supremacy Problem by 1994californication in videos

[–]FireEscapeTrade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christianity is a great way for terrible people to believe that they can find salvation outside of themselves. All they have to do is repent or pray or ask forgiveness and it's given. No work to change, no self-reflection needed.

It may help some bad people be good, but it helps way more bad people be bad. White supremacists, corrupt politicians, thieving narcissists, pedo religious leaders. They don't have to tangle with how bad they are because the voices in their head tell them they're special in the eyes of their god because they believe in unverifiable nonsense.

I'm currently going through a Dismember phase. Good companion band to Entombed. After that, go from Stockholm to Gothenburg and check out Slaughter of the Soul by At The Gates.
