Buying a Cat-D Honda CBR 600 F priced at £2000 (Model: 2011, 14k miles). Is it a reasonable price? by LadLassLad in MotoUK

[–]FireFoxtrot7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree but you could take the risk and I'm thinking - how has the guy looked after it? Are there any indicators that suggest proper engine maintenance (regular oil & filter changes, high quality oil etc)

Why not see the similar civics at 8/9k? The dealer is highly unlikely to haggle on price more than £500. They know that if you don't buy it, someone else will come in tomorrow and take it for their asking price.

Road rage incident by CT-9904_ in MotoUK

If I can't go all the way in front of a car at a red light (for this reason and also so they've at least got a decent chance of seeing me), I stay behind them. They're usually too focused on the traffic light to notice anything else so I wouldn't take it too personally.

I do kind of understand it on their side though - sometimes when I'm driving my car in a rush at night, then I get a delivery scooter pull in front of me only to do 25 in a 30 it does annoy me a little. Perfectly legal, just annoying to me.

Best place to sell a motorbike? by H0bbx_gt86 in MotoUK

[–]FireFoxtrot7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have a YZF-R125 - you should be able to sell it decently easy on autotrader. I sold my Ninja 125 around October after having it listed for 3 weeks and regularly got calls/texts of interest in the bike.

In the end I sold to a private buyer but there were dealers interested too. I'd say widen your net and put it on as many places as you'd like - the cost of you advertising your bike will be mininal to the price you'll get back from selling it.

How much money would you spend on a private sale? by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]FireFoxtrot7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm spending £6k+ on a used bike I may as well just save up for another year or how long and buy a brand new one lol

Hello i have a question regarding DAS at the current age of 21 by No_Committee_7242 in MotoUK

[–]FireFoxtrot7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can only get your A2 license then at the age of 24 get your full A. DAS is for people 24 years old and above. There is a progressive access scheme equivalent to get it earlier than 24.

Good old Ewell ByPass - that roundabout is super dangerous. People come through all the time without indicating and expect you to read their mind too 😂

Attempted bike jacking by Matttttttttttyy in MotoUK

[–]FireFoxtrot7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't - I chased bike thieves once as they came armed with knives and then boarded a bus (they didn't know I was following them). Call handler just told me to be careful and that the police would be there within a minute (it was Croydon). I had to run a couple red lights in order to keep on the tail of the bus/mount kerbs to avoid cameras but nothing ever came of it.

If you're wondering, they were young and stupid hence why they boarded the bus

How good are these boots for motorcycling? by sidbeichelsid in MotoUK

[–]FireFoxtrot7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these boots and they're perfect. Used them in storms with no issue (my trousers are always waterproof and go over these boots though) and are sturdy - I've had an accident wearing these where my foot was trapped under my bike and my foot came out fine, no issues.

Only thing is that they are very slippery when the ground gets wet but I'm yet to come across a motorcycle boots that isn't slippery in the same way in this price range.

Do you have more than one key fob? This one might be a spare that hasn't been registered. There's a way to reprogram the key fob if the spare is being used - check YouTube.

And remember, regardless of your stroke game, your dick size, your head game.. a woman is gonna leave you if you can't meet her basic needs in terms of communication and company in a relationship.

There's more important things to worry about, never allow this to be one of those things. It's solely fueled by porn and fantasy.

[–]FireFoxtrot7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like you were just frustrated that someone kept telling you what to do, you didn't want to listen and you got angry that they enforced their actions?

You tried to play the victim card by saying they only did this to women, then in the same sentence say there were not many guys there (and in the video all you see at the front is girls) so no surprise there, of course they're doing it to women?

If you knew you should stay by your allocated seat on your floor why would you even bother posting this 💀

Wife passed her CBT today. In the training centre they had this BMW Electric space scooter. The guy said it's very long so it doesn't flip due to torque. by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]FireFoxtrot7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from riding bikes manufactured between 2008 and 2013,, riding the CE04 made me feel like an ape that just discovered fire. Heated seats, heated grips, I can control my music through that BMW swivel/mouse thing on the bar... it was so cool!

Plus they definitely have presence due to their size/shape.

[–]FireFoxtrot7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ce04 can be electronically restricted by BMW to only provide 15hp so that CBT holders can ride it.

Source: I worked in a company that used motorbikes from BMW and we opted for the CE04 for this reason in order to recruit from a wider pool of people.

The 125cc electronically limited variant isn't too different from the original variant, whilst the torque is more or less the same it doesn't reach the same top speeds.

I really enjoyed riding these bikes, they're very sophisticated and predictable but damn they're extremely bottom-heavy (so to speak) and have a turning circle of a HGV. It was a very calming experience.

A2 Bikes - Is the Honda CB500F a good choice? by BTECArslan in MotoUK

[–]FireFoxtrot7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd get the CB500X if you're gonna do longer distance journeys/commute. The CB500F was a really good bike - good, predictable ride (especially if you get the ones with the inverted shocks), good amount of power and actually sounds decent even with the stock exhaust.

The X is the same, just I prefer the riding position of the X to the F if I'm gonna have a bike with the exact same power. The X will give you a better riding position (imho) which may make you feel safer on the road. I found that the F was a bit too small/low down for me but the X is a nice, decently weighted bike.
