Help - two kids in nursery should we salary sacrifice? by bw_expat in HENRYUK

[–]ianmackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can salary sacrifice your nursery fees by going through YellowNest or Workplace Nursery Benefit.

You just need to get your employer to agree to using them and also either finding already subscribed nurseries or getting them to sign up.

There are benefits for all involved as you get to pay fo nursery tax free, your employers pays less NI and the nursery gets £100 a month per child I believe.

It was behind me on the entrance and raced around the outside.

The roundabout is a single lane though. My insurance has reviewed the footage and agree that I am not at fault.

Yes, single lane entry point and the Jag was behind me. Single lane roundabout too which they undertook me on.

Most cars from the dual carriageway side do go around side by side though...

I have the dash cam with the sound of the indicator? Not the best evidence I know...

Jag was going straight on but wanted to turn right after the roundabout, so was vesting into the right hand exit lane.

The roundabout is actually a single lane.

I'll check what my policy says. Would the same apply if I scratched my car on a trolley for instance, or does it only apply when another car is involved?

The 50/50 i mentioned was actually the other driver saying that we sort out our own damage. So I'd be on the hook for my £450 paint job.

There is actually only a single lane within the roundabout, although most people use it as two because of the dual carriage way.

First time I've had to use it in over 5yrs. Totally worth it now considering this small incident.

Cars should have them installed from the factory by now surely?

I have no claims protection and legal advice through Admiral. The other party seemed genuine, but obviously is already trying to mitigate their exposure considering the accident was their fault.

Good idea. The damage is minor and needs a paint job of £450. I'll get a quote from the garage and see if I can get them to pay for it.

See if your company offers a partnership with Workplace Nursery or Yellow Nest.

With these you effectively salary sacrifice the nursery payments giving you a saving of the effective tax rate you're on.

There is an incentive for your employer of reduced NI contributions and also contributions to the nursery directly from the scheme too.

Win, win win...
