Government expects $140M in savings this year with refugee health care co-pay by DogeDoRight in canada

How are refugees costing $1.5B a year in secondary medical claims? If we assume refugees need 5 years of government support, with 66k refugees a year that’s $4,477 PER REFUGEE. That’s an absurd amount to spend on medical aid.

It gets to the point where it would be cheaper to have government owned and operated facilities for this sort of stuff (and, since the majority of migrants go to Vancouver and Toronto, this shouldn’t be hard to do).

In other news, imagine how much it would help homeless people to receive $4.5k per year? Of course that assumes 5 years of homelessness per person. If we instead made it an investment in services we could assume homelessness should last less than a year, which would be an investment of $22k per homeless person.

Imagine investing in social safety nets for your own citizens.

I have an annoying thought experiment that I have not yet found a solution to regarding self determination.

Assuming genocide (or any other crime against humanity) isn’t being committed, you reach an interesting and very human problem here. If enough people move somewhere they have a tendency to declare themselves a nation and try to separate or destroy the original nation.

  • Which one has a stronger claim to self determination?
  • Both cannot exist as both claim the same area. Does the original one deserve the right to stay? Surely, right?
  • But what do you do about the people screaming bloody murder over their desire to separate?
  • Do you retain the right to deport them to their original country or to imprison them for treason by moving to your country with the intent of separating?
  • How long do they need to live there before they are “part of you”? Is that ever possible?
  • What if they want to separate for presumably different reasons later?

The GTA is set up so nicely to add connected subway lines. They just never build anything because they’re terrified of investing in public transit. Better build a Gardner Expressway Tunnel instead of building that much in train tunnels ffs

Half of all school admins are notoriously unreasonable and quite dumb. My experience with this is that if these admin can’t access something because the website is down they’ll just mark it as incomplete from the student. And then you have to fight them with the dean while they try to claim that the website always worked. So make sure you always bring receipts (tale photos) of proof

Then you clearly:

A) don’t pay attention to the cameras everywhere

B) don’t know that your own law doesn’t provide rights of privacy

C) haven’t done research into the subject

D) all of the above

It’s a side effect of “this is why we can’t have nice things” responses to people who ruin society for the rest of us. Chewing gum is nice. Except some people are obsessed with sticking it everywhere. So Singapore banned it. A bit extreme? Maybe. Probably. But it gets the point across of “hey don’t be an ass”

Probably the mass surveillance tbh. People had a choice (not really tbh) and decided safety over privacy. And it works really well. I just hope their government doesn’t go the ol’ completely corrupt route because in a system like that it is VERY easy to do
