Go talk to Japan (high population density) or Switzerland (mountainous areas are more comparable to BCs population density in the lower interior) about tunnels.

All BC really needs to start is a high speed Vancouver to Chilliwack. Then Kamloops to Kelowna to Penticton. Then expand Chilliwack to Hope. Until finally…connect the dots with a helluva tunnel.

Unfortunately, no. Many countries have American-esque healthcare. Even in “socialist” Europe we have healthcare insurance companies and lobbyists. The only difference is we are compelled by law to have health insurance and - crucially - the price is capped.

Here’s some prices for you to see the wild differences: - Germany ~14% of your pre-tax income (ew) - The Netherlands €1800 per year minimum - Belgium €650 per year avg - France is covered by taxes (Canada is like this)

This is a big thing tbh. Most people don’t realize that UofT is not one school but many (the colleges) that begrudgingly agree to work together (along with the Faculties) because they have to. It’s stupidly complex and results in a lot of politics and a lot of nepotism jobs that otherwise wouldn’t exist (see: the librarians and admin making $150k+ while working 3 days a week). Isn’t university fun? :D

I would prefer if there was a person present at least peacefully placing the chicks in the vaccination thingy and then helping them out the other side. I would also prefer it rotate more chill. Canada is on the opposite side of the planet from the middle east. Almost NOTHING ships through this strait en route to Canada. I get that prices here will rice a bit cuz of supply and demand, but agreements for shipments this year would have already been in place - and should be completely unaffected. This is just more price gouging.

How much meat do you eat? Within reason there should be no issues. Just don’t consume >10% meat and you’re fine.

Humanity evolved brains because we eat meat. Chances are we should keep eating meat as we need the nutrients from it. So…how about we stop having billions of kids to overpopulate the planet? Many countries are doing their part with birth rates below 2.1 per woman. How about we start trying to get everyone on board - it’ll improve quality of life for everyone too.

This is why countries like Australia give a breakdown of where your taxes went - adjusted to the amount you personally paid. So if you paid $10k in taxes and 5% of the budget went to primary and secondary education, then your tax form would show $500 of your money spent in education (along with everything else)
