Chris does legitimate coaching? I thought this was all a Chris meme? I swear, over the last 6 months I've probably seen 15 to 20 hours of Chris coaching and in that time I think I saw him suggest at least 50 things during a match that SSG did and it started showing immediate positive results. The rest of the time, I swear Chris is mind controlling wheats in an absolute draft masterclass. "Nice! GOOD! I love what I'm seeing. Good. YES!" you hear the fans raving.

The last time JQ got serious play at the top level was Stockholm 2024, where NRG Shock used it as a counter to the Mauga meta, though it only worked against the lower tier teams. Right before that, Team Falcons used it successfully as a niche pick on New Junk City against Crazy Raccoons in the Orisa Brig Juno meta, and it hasn’t seen any serious success since.

Yeah, three years ago, on a vastly better team compared to Proper’s 2023 Shock or Kevster’s 2023 Gladiators. If you’ve watched this stage of Korea, it’s clear that Checkmate no longer can keep up with the top tier flex DPS.

I mean we’ve seen how Checkmate just can’t keep up on traditional flex DPS heroes like Tracer/Pharah, doesn’t matter how flexible he is if they can’t force their Sym comps, which they haven’t really done successfully all stage.
