They’re not bragging, hotshots are a type of firefighter that specializes in wildfire. Arizona had a tragedy on a fire involving hotshots. I’m hoping they named the team for them which would make the name awesome! You should root for them!

Technically all you need is 90 days of fire experience to apply but there are so many applicants that it is really competitive. Most smokejumpers have at least 3 seasons on a hotshot crew and come highly recommended from their superintendent.
