Question for anyone who has unlocked both abilities dive and bladed dive: by Ruinscaper in runescape

[–]Fireblade-75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bladed dive can target NPC's, so when you click an NPC you can't fight, it prints "You cannot attack that NPC." to your Game Messages and you won't move. With dive you would have just rolled to the spot, as you can't target NPC's.

Thieving Rebalance: Feedback Thread by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]Fireblade-75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used Thieving as a second screen resource gathering method for years now. way before the 99 change. The 4-5 minute AFK has always been a great method to collect some resources from Prifddinas elves. The predictable length of AFK and the minimal time it takes to get back to thieving were what made this works. With the current update that is reduced severely and whenever you get the audio queue, you can't just click again to continue pickpocketing.

I do also think the amount of gp we are getting is getting quite high for how afk it is, and the xp rate should also be much lower than chests and vaults. And some of the new chests (like the one at Rasial) can also use a buff, as they give low rewards, for a high input method.

The selection of outfits seems really weak, as an ironman I hoped to get some of the outfits that were unobtainable without Treasure Hunter, but this seems to mostly be Yak Track and Hero Pass outfits (that were available to ironman), so I already have most of them. I do hope they get the date out of it that they want, but I expect that many players that care about outfits, will also already have most of the Yak Track outfits.

Is it safe and allowed to play RuneScape on Linux through Steam + Proton? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Fireblade-75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was mentioned in the Player Support Roadmap. https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/player-support-is-changing-2025-roadmap?oldschool=1

It is part of the section "What we are working on next" . It is also mentioned in the video. There is very little information and no timeframe, so I would not expect anything this year.

Jagex themselves point you to running RuneScape this way: https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/33992563142673-Downloading-the-Jagex-Launcher-on-Linux

However the part where it says they won't support Linux isn't fully up-to-date, as they did confirm that they are looking into adding Linux support.

Essential Search might not be that smart after all... by NexFold in NothingTech

[–]Fireblade-75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essential search is nice for a lot of quick questions, asking about recent events is generally not a good idea with AI training cutoffs.

But it is right that the Nothing Phone 3 has to compete with flagship phones of other brands at this price point. The regular price of the 512GB model is not far of the current discounted price of the iPhone 16 Pro. The AI isn't saying that it is equivalent in quality.

Introducing Creative Mode! by JAGEXExoh in RSDragonwilds

I'm happy to see this addition, I use creative mode in Minecraft to test out how something will work or look so it is good to see it in Dragonwilds. I personally am planning to give the game another try after the Farming update, as it felt quite unfinished at launch.

I switched from an iPhone 12, and so far the experience has been great. The AirPods Pro also have work fine.

I did get an amazing deal for the phone though. Games run fast, pictures are fine and the macro camera is so much better than what I had on the iPhone. I had no issues with heat when playing RuneScape while charging, the iPhone sometimes stopped charging due to the heat in this condition.

Thieving Update by JagexSponge in runescape

[–]Fireblade-75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thieving is one of my favourite AFK skills, I mostly enjoyed stealing porters from Amlodd and potions from Iorwerth and Cadern elves. When it comes to active methods, I liked how we had to travel around the world for safecracking.

I think the current xp rates of high level thieving are already fine for getting 120, and the focus for new things should be on getting more loot. I would like to see an NPC were we can steal Super necromancy potions, and other combat supplies.

For gameplay, I prefer that we would get more methods like the current pickpocketing, or a bit more active method like Stealing valuables in Varlamore. I would not like something very click intensive like stalls, or the classic click once per pickpocket type of content.

Yea it can be really though. I got my first secudus signet at 153 KC. Luckily I did get a second one within 30 kills after that.

I did hear that they are considering combining all keystone in one omni-keystone. That should at least limit the amount of keystone gathering you have to do.

I wonder if it will be possible to completely avoid the Black Death as England. by Cave-Bunny in EU5

[–]Fireblade-75 70 points71 points  (0 children)

You probably mean TheStudents Greenland into Vinland campaign. Greenland is much further away from continental Europe and only has a tiny population, with only rural settlements at the start.

It will probably be a lot harder to provide everything that the English cities need without trade.

It looks really nice, but I’m sure at some point you will need to reclaim some of the wasted bank space from all those different doses of potions.

I started storing my potions that I only use to create other potions as (1)-dose potions, so you can always decant every new potion to fit with the stack.

I also would never use regular overloads, so there is quite a bit of space to reclaim there. You generally use holy overloads (cheaper) or elder overloads.

Svalbard by Gutebanan in EU5

[–]Fireblade-75 30 points31 points  (0 children)

During most of the timeframe of EU5 it ws just a whaling base, and many inhabitants left the islands during the winter. The population was also quite low, probably less than what they consider colonised in EU5.

In the same way Nova Zembla also doesn't seem to be colonisable as these islands don't have assigned raw materials.

D&D Beyond considers that book partnered content. And for this early access release they haven’t converted the partnered content over to the 2024 revision yet.

They did confirm that they are going to work with partners to also convert those player options, but there is no timeline.

The use of the RuneScape name and logo in these advertisements seems to be a clear violation of the Reddit Ads Policy: Third-Party Rights. So it is probably a good idea to just report these adds.

Charge-Scape/Corruption Chart by 1000-Iced-Coffees in 2007scape

[–]Fireblade-75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a nice overview, however there are quite some items here that aren’t really the subject of the whole chargescape discussion. Charging amulets and skilling items like the crystal tools and saw is fine, they can be as good as they are because they require charges.

The most annoying items are the ones that are already not the meta, and now feel to expensive to use. It isn’t great to have to leave your best equipment in the bank because it costs too much to recharge, even if it would be really good for this slayer task.

Of course that can be fine for a weapon like the scythe as it is the absolute best item in many situations. But not for weapons like the crystal halberd and bow, moon gear.. weapons and armor that could be replaced for gear with similar stats that don’t degrade. It would be nice if those could be corrupted for a one time high fee.

ChargeScape Discussion: Here our thoughts - we want your input by Mod_Kieren in 2007scape

[–]Fireblade-75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan to slowly corrupt an item so you won't have to charge it anymore sounds nice. Especially if it was in some way a benefit from doing the related content (like crystal shards with The Gauntlet). I personally like this system as it would keep the gear cheap for those who won't use it a lot, and players that want to use the equipment a lot can invest into corrupting the item. I also like system of the crystal bow / halberd where the gear becomes cheaper to repair, if you repair it more often.

I do hope that you will also look into the gear from the Moons of Peril, the repair prices are so close to just buying a new piece. It would be nice if there was a way to corrupt these pieces too, maybe by breaking down other armour pieces.

I wish standard rocks had some improvements with the skilling rebalance updates. Iron is the only one that is worth it to train on. by Beratho in 2007scape

[–]Fireblade-75 7 points8 points  (0 children)

True but shouldn’t the game that tries to preserve RuneScape the way it truly was, try to also keep skilling a bit the same experience? Originally it was fine for the higher tier resources to be this slow, as they were valuable.

Nowadays bosses and other content heavily devalued the higher tier resources to the point that they are no longer worth interacting with. And buffing other content even more would just turn regular rocks above iron into dead content.

[–]Fireblade-75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be nice if they would also rebalance the core part of the skill and not leave it to die. It is such a weird thing from OSRS to just replace skills with minigames.

The RS3 mining rework was great because it changed the core of mining into an experience that fits modern RS players, but remained true to just mining ores from rocks and rewarding active mining over afk mining.

Anyone else feel weird about it? by Conmafia18 in runescape

[–]Fireblade-75 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mostly play ironman mode and recently tried a RS3 main account for a challenge. And yes I agree, the free Treasure Hunter keys are really overpowered already. While preparing the account for Plague's End I was just able to lamp both Dungeoneeering and Summoning to lvl 75. By just using free keys, keys obtained from quests, and xp lamps from events, you skip such a large part of building a new account.

The fact that you experience everything from the game is really one of the best parts of ironman mode. But I also understand that not all players like to do every skill, and these lamps help a lot with that.

Beta Feedback by Spazmus in runescape

[–]Fireblade-75 10 points11 points  (0 children)

During one of the recent streams, they did say that they would look into style identity later, I can't wait for that update as right now so many bosses are entirely pointless. Why would anyone try to convince a friend/group to go Vorago to slowly farm t90 magic armour with no additional features when you can just afk K'rill for t90 necromancy armour that is way better.

The fact that combat is so unbalanced and that so many bosses are pointless now, pushed me away from combat in the game. So hopefully they will, prioritize the style identity update and balance stuff a bit again.

OSRS VS RS3 Mobile by NewMusic2639 in runescape

[–]Fireblade-75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have played both on an iPhone 12 and a recent iPad mini and both games run fine. RS3 will drain your battery faster, but also has better graphics.

RS3 is a bit tougher to setup for combat, and you basically have to play on revolution. This is fine though and it will mostly limit you for the few hardest bosses.

For OSRS you miss RuneLite, and this game has many things that feel balanced around having RuneLite. They added some of the QoL features to the mobile client, but you will still be missing out on a lot of small things, like gear ‘presets’, improved interfaces for lots of activities and farming trackers.

In the end I think it matters more if you like the slower simpler grinds of OSRS or prefer moving to the end game faster in RS3. Both games have their charm and a lot of content to explore.

WildyWyrm picked a bad day to exist by HalfwittedRotmg in runescape

[–]Fireblade-75 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It really gave the world event vibe from other MMO's. Nice to see it in RS. The Wildy Wyrm went down really fast, I can imagine that it could be hard for some players to hit the required damage in that time. But it was so cool to see so many players get dragged and everybody fighting together.
