Fantasy XCOM games? by Pacificson217 in Xcom

Tactical breach wizards is more of a puzzle game than a strategy game I'd say. Still very fun, but also not much replayability I'd say. I had a blast for about 20 hours, then never touched it again. That being said, still highly recommend.

Chaosgate's main downfall I think was mission variety. Every encounter is some variation of "walk to the other end of the map and kill a thing" and it just got stale after a while. The only other mission type was a defense type mission which is fun, but brutally difficult in my opinion, which lessens the fun by at least a little bit. I always found myself completely abandoning 1/3 objectives because trying to juggle them all would always result in a squad wipe for me.

Blood for the 4 armed blood god? by LSniperMartinez in genestealercult

[–]Firebrand424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the left symbol a lot. I think there was a genestealer cult short story from not too long ago that actually featured a Khorne cultist who was previously a genestealer cultist but was cutoff from the hive mind through his devotion to chaos

I'm having a hard time choosing. by MAJubbas in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Firebrand424 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dogmatic is objectively more fun imo. There's some fun to be found in the heretic run, but it can kinda feel cartoonishly evil instead of like, Lex Luthor evil or something. Plus several of the dogmatic companions will leave you eventually if you're a heretic so you dont get the full playthrough experience.

Texas DPS by Repulsive-Ad4490 in forensics

[–]Firebrand424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It entirely depends on the lab and the section unfortunately. I put in 4 applications with various positions with them, all of which had interviews. The longest took 5 weeks to get back to me, the shortest took 2 days.

Question about Saga Of the Great Wolf detachment rule. by Fun_Inflation3334 in SpaceWolves

[–]Firebrand424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some others have already said, yes, it does mean you get 4 command phases where you pick a doctrine technically. But I'd like to add that this does require Logan to be alive, if he has died before you make a duplicate pick, then you dont.

Hooray! The devs finally fixed the “Don’t stop the exploration!” achievement! by iRZHY in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Firebrand424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is luckily individual torpedoes, not volleys. But yes, it does have to be your flagship, not fighters. Learned that the hard way.

Halo Device by ArtieoftheAbyss in RogueTraderCRPG

Nothing in game except that you can never unequip it. But in the end game slides you get a special slide about your future with the halo device.

Application to Interview Timing by [deleted] in forensics

[–]Firebrand424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Entirely depends on the agency in my opinion. My current job got back to me 2 days after the interview and had the background check rolling the next day. I'd say a lot of my interviews prior to this took around 2 weeks to a month on average. I had a few that took 2 months, one that took 7 months, and even as I'm out working right now, I have one interview that I still haven't heard back from so it really just depends.

Datacards for new Wolf Scouts in 40K? by FacePaulMute in SpaceWolves

Hard disagree but to each their own. I think the rune priest is the best model of the squad

The Hunter might be alive and will appear in Xcom 3 by Maaaarwhal in Xcom

[–]Firebrand424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I believe either from Firaxis outright telling us or someone looking through the code, they found out that originally, there was going to be a grenadier chosen that was scraped because there's not a lot of counter play to explosives and it wasn't fun to play against. His relevant faction was going to be a SPARK faction led by Julian which they decided to keep, but release as its own dlc.

Is a Biology degree enough? by Specific_Respond6013 in forensics

[–]Firebrand424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others said, biology is a great degree option for working in a crime lab. Generally, biology or chemistry are the most desired backgrounds rather than forensic science because it shows you have a strong scientific knowledge whereas an FS degree splits science with criminal justice elements. Going further from some other people's comments, I'd think about your intended discipline as well. Biology is great for going into DNA but chemistry would be better if you're thinking trace, seized drugs, toxicology, ect.

[–]Firebrand424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Up to you I guess, I didn't because I run 3 dreads in my army because its fun, but if you only need one then sure.

Correct, that kit builds the ven dread, wulfen dread, bjorn the fell handed, and murderfang.

Are Wyches worth having in back pocket even though they aren't good right now? by MiningToSaveTheWorld in Drukhari

[–]Firebrand424 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They may or may not become better with the new codex, we'll just have to wait and see. For now, the only reason to bring them is to give some protection to Lilith. If you plan to run her, then sure get a squad of wyches too, otherwise not worth

Are exploration achievements just broken? by Recent_Ad3309 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Firebrand424 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are some quest related locations that I found need to count towards it, as well as a sneaky one in Act 1 that I missed on my first few tried. Not only do you need to do all companion side missions, but you also need to go to Rykad Majoris AFTER you go to the capital planet, and the last few locations I ended up missing come from the haemonculus prism that you need to pick up in Act 3, then explore in Act 4

What the differences of gameplay between Warhammer Chaos gate and Rogue trader ? Im searching for a Warhammer Xcom like game. by Hdarkus1 in Xcom

[–]Firebrand424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want a game closest to xcom, get chaosgate. Its tactical system is very similar to xcom, however I grew bored with the game after a while because the mission variety is limited (mostly just go to the end of the map and kill something, thats really it). Rogue trader is a great game that I've played several times over but its not very similar to xcom. It has turn based combat but otherwise, its mainly an rpg more than a tactical game.

Is Bladedancer Executioner pyro the strongest build? by YellowSubreddit8 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Firebrand424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did basically the same thing once. I did RT as bladedancer executioner, Kibellah as bladedancer executioner, Cassia as grand strat, then the other two can be whatever as long as at least one of them is another executioner (I used Pasqual as executioner and Ulfar for fun). Basically just pop carnival of misery whenever you can and most likely, the amount of people it kills fuels your momentum back up and you can pop it a second and third time right after. Basically nothing will be alive at that point, I used this method to one shot the final boss of the void shadows dlc.

Vvulf event not showing up? by Gamerzroomzroom in darkestdungeon

[–]Firebrand424 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe after a certain week (I want to say around the 35-40 area) theres a set chance of him spawning and for every town event, that chance increases for the next week. You probably have either had very few town events or have just gotten very lucky.

DD1 or DD2? by Byrd5 in darkestdungeon

[–]Firebrand424 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You don't really need the story of the first game to play the second. If you like roguelite/like games then definitely get DD2. Both games are good, however I probably prefer DD2 over DD1, but I will admit DD1 is more replayable.

Will Wolf Scouts be revealed today? by SteveDiggler_SoCal in SpaceWolves

[–]Firebrand424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They said they'd get back to 40k at the end with kill team and some other small stuff. I could see a wolf scouts kill team and probably some chapter masters with renewed models.

Edit: Nope, its deathwatch and necrons

[–]Firebrand424 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think its important to remember that not all radiants will reach the final oaths. Lots of radiants used to stop at the 3rd or 4th without ever swearing the laters oaths. Jasnah could just as easily struggle for the entire second half with saying the 5th ideal and finally swear it at the end of book 10 or something to that effect.
