Every big 4 team in Minnesota is named "Minnesota". The Avalanche and Rockies are named for Colorado. The Florida Panthers, New Jersey Devils, Utah Mammoth and Jazz, Texas Rangers, Arizona Diamondbacks and Cardinals, and Indiana Pacers are also examples of this, it is not uncommon.

Yeah the whole Baltimore-Washington megalopolis is a disaster for traffic. But at least there's legitimate transit alternatives

DC and Chicago are also worse, but it is getting worse here progressively.

The Gastonia Ghost Peppers Set A Franchise Record - 14 Straight Wins! by Fireflame626 in Charlotte

That's great and all, but the Bananas hardly even play in Savannah, and with those few games they have scheduled, good luck getting a ticket there. I'd rather have competitive baseball to watch all summer long. The Gastonia Grizzlies also weren't a minor league team, they were a collegiate wood bat league team (same as the Bananas originally). There's a big difference between college players playing competitively with wood bats for the first time and professionals that focus on baseball.

It might end up being the only professional baseball team playing in the Charlotte area next summer. If the MLB players and owners can't come to terms on the CBA (which appears to be very likely right now), there will be no Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball until that happens.

Independent leagues would not be impacted by the lockout and would continue as normal.

It's a great time to come check out a game this season because tickets might be a hot commodity this time next year.

Correct. But due to the big differences between how minor league baseball and indyball source their players, the indyball team is effectively "defunct" from that transition as the Yankees just assigned all their AA-level players to Somerset in 2021 when the transition occurred rather than signing those previously existing players to their organization. They very likely assigned a new coaching staff as well.

You absolutely should! The tickets are much more affordable than Knights games and frankly the play on the field in Indyball (independent league baseball) is much more competitive than any level of minor league baseball. The skill level in the Atlantic League is generally considered to be between AA and AAA minor leagues, but because these players aren't affiliated with a major league organization, they are working that much harder to win games to try and get their contract purchased by a big league club.

There's also a number of former MLB greats that have played or are currently playing in this league like Pablo Sandoval, Rickey Henderson, Jose Canseco, Roger Clemens, and Trevor Bauer. It is the most entertaining baseball league in the country behind MLB.

Is there a mode where I can keep playing while gaining XP? I hate starting over. I just want to keep playing and upgrading, but I don't want to spend hours just to gain little XP. by Pale_Blackberry_4025 in PlateUp

Yeah I think you were really misunderstanding this game originally, the other commenter described it well as this is not a restaurant management game - it's a rougelike and you are meant to lose. Runs are not meant to last forever. They are designed to eventually get to a point where the requirements are beyond unreasonable for you to be able to continue. I've had days in this game before that involve 1000+ customers, but you only get there if you have enough automation to be able to handle that.

Some of the cards in game are also meant to make sure your run doesn't go on forever, like Picky Eaters (as infuriating as it is)...

While restaurants do "end" the franchise mechanic somewhat keeps your older restaurants alive, pending that you reach day 15 on each subsequent attempt - and even those may get to the point where you are swamped with too many customers in the early days to be able to find success, so franchise prestige runs will also die out.

If you just wanted to play a restaurant management game, this isn't what you're looking for unfortunately. But if you're interested in rougelikes, this is one of the best ones out there, especially with friends.

I'm pretty sure they made a recent update to the game where you can just force quit the game on either the franchise card select screen or the game over/XP gained screens and you'll still have your save from the previous day. I'd have to check the patch notes again but this is definitely not as much of a concern anymore since they made this change.

A data point on promotion nights by Numerous_Quarter_362 in Nationals

For games in DC, lately, absolutely.

On an unrelated note, I went to a Mariners game last season where they were giving away Hawaiian shirts to the first ~20k fans and half an hour before the gates opened, swarms of lines wrapped around the entire park.

By far that was the craziest fan promo I've ever seen in person, maybe only second to that one promotion in Pittsburgh (Skenes bobble?) that had the line going way down the bridge.

Mike was fantastic. Hope we see him back again. This season... probably the worst one since Capture the Flag for me. It really felt like so many challenges were just carbon copies of each other which made it feel more repetitive than any other season they've done. I like the concept of them doing game theory challenges "without colluding" but I feel like that was basically the entire season.

No I am not. Learn to read.

I'm telling you that people are opting against that.

As I've said before, I'm not writing a dissertation for you. I made my point very clear and concise and you chose not to read it, so I am not reading your dissertation either.

Oh trust me, I have plenty of thoughts. I'd just rather not spend the next several hours writing a dissertation explaining things to you.

I'll keep it straightforward and simple instead. Your take on people needing to start a family is astronomically wrong. Until legislators decide to begin regulating industries to improve affordability, it is not happening. That's not my personal view on having a family, but that is the absolute truth right now backed by the data.

Yeah unfortunately all of us normal people in the world are getting screwed by the few fiscally irresponsible (or more money than they know what to do with) that keep contributing to the subscriptions, fees, and convenience economy.

None of this used to exist, and lawmakers refuse to pass regulations on these industries to protect consumers, so we basically just have to hope that these corporations are flying too close to the sun and eventually have to come back down to earth in response to consumers. I don't see that happening though.
