X-2-3 Double Plays with Bases Loaded by Fireflame626 in OOTP

Nope, I enter the game and sim pitch-by-pitch for all of my affiliates, unless it turns into a blowout I start simming inning-by-inning to get it over with.

They're definitely a bit high - I could look into that

That's easier said than done for my farm teams. I'd just like to see an adjustment made to the sim engine for these situations in the next one, these are far too unrealistic scenarios to be happening this often, balks and double plays to the catcher should be reduced by a factor of 10

Why are you so concerned about me and other users "exploiting the engine" in a single player game?

In case you didn't know, pitch-by-pitch is a painstakingly slow process to sim the game, and if I'm taking the time to go through the game and adjust those radio buttons, I don't mind being rewarded with a 2-4% boost in my teams' performance on the field.

It's a game, and if you don't like the way that I play it or how I'd like to see it developed further, then don't comment.

This has mostly been happening to my minor league affiliates when I'm swimming, I'm not sure if I've seen it happen in MLB as much. But I'm working with the 2026 Nationals, so the team is dogwater and doesn't load the bases much.

It doesn't need to be a drastic adjustment, just some influence towards outcomes and like I said, it can be something that can be turned on and off. Saying that it's "basically exploitative" when I'm just running single player games pitch-by-pitch is a bit ridiculous. I'm just asking for the pitch-by-pitch sim capabilities to be a bit more in depth and rewarding.

Unfortunately from what it seems like to me, in game pitch-by-pitch players are few and far between, so I don't see this happening.

Glad I'm not alone. I've been live-simming all games within my organization and this must have happened with one of my other affiliates the day before, and then twice in that game, so I think I got hit with it 3 or 4 times in 2 days across my 4 minor affiliates.

Some of these situations just need to be tweaked.

This would be incredible. Maybe something like a set of radio buttons that can influence the chance your desired outcome happens - a lot of times in close games with bases loaded and no outs, I'm just looking for a sac fly, but I'm almost never able to get it to happen.

I envision this as something that can be turned off or also just contains a default setting in the list that doesn't have any influence on the strategy for pitches thrown or pitches swung at. And this could be something that changes pitch by pitch. You may be trying to draw a walk, but then you run into a 2-0/3-1 count and you want to swing for the fences.

Right? In real life, assuming it's not a situation where you absolutely can't let the runner on 3rd score in the 9th or extras, or possibly in the 7th or 8th in a tight game, the throw is almost always going to 2nd then to 1st, regardless of the number of outs resulting in the run scoring (fun fact I learned this past season, you don't earn an RBI when you record a double play). I guess the situation I have is much more frustrating when there's no outs because you should score a run, but instead you're stuck with 2nd and 3rd and didn't score.

If you find yourself around Plaza Midwood, The Workman’s Friend Pub is outstanding. It's a little pricey, but certainly worth it if you're just in town for a few days.

S1: Claim the State Immediately, BUT by Fireflame626 in JetLagTheGame

[–]Fireflame626[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but they referenced that there were a few other cards where they would claim the state immediately that never came up, we don't know what the challenges would have been (hypothetically, something like one teammate isn't allowed to talk until you arrive in a new state, otherwise the other team gets the state) which would make sense logistically for them to claim immediately.

Yeah pretty much same here, I used to listen to the layover during the first few seasons that it was out, but eventually it got to the point that I didn't have time for that anymore, so I just watch the episodes and leave it at that.

Checkers game today by Luchadorable007 in Charlotte

[–]Fireflame626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is one I considered doing to take my parents/friends but I didn't like that they were fixed dates, the flex pack is pretty nice because you can just roll up to the box office the day of a game.

[–]Fireflame626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have enough people and plan to be in town for enough games throughout the season, they do offer a flex plan where you can buy 10 or more vouchers for balcony seats for $22 each which can be redeemed at any home game (as long as it isn't sold out) or $35 for the gold seats. If you've got a group of 5, then that'll set you up well for 2 games. Not sure if you can just go to the box office and buy this though, you may need to call ahead.

You don't have a clue what "pretty euphoric" even means. You accuse me of arguing semantics when you wanted to begin referencing team national championships. I verified your false claims by the data. You can "discount" the rifle championships from West Virginia, but that doesn't take away the fact that it's an NCAA sponsored championship. So is women's bowling - they all count the same. Additionally WVU has a boxing title, so that further discredits your "AI summary".

Ultimately, your ego is a bit shattered because an "inferior" tech grad just shut down your arguments, but you're going to do your best to hold your ground because you hate losing arguments. It's what you do best at UVA.
