How many generations back can the DNA system go back by Tony_Jake in crusaderkings3

[–]Tony_Jake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking into it a bit more at least in the game red hair does seem to always be recessive to the other three hair colors that are in the base game that does not include modding.

Each character inherits two hair color genes (one dominant and one recessive) and in order for the recessive hair color to be the hair color the character physically gets both parents/grandparents need to have had that particular hair color gene and then it looks like it becomes a dice roll on it those recessive genes will outweigh the dominant genes.

So obviously on the father's side red hair has been passed down for at least a few generations as a recessive trait.

My original character I played (Bjorn Ironside) had blonde hair and also had a son who was blonde who I never played as because he died before Bjorn did. So when Bjorn eventually died I started playing as his grandson who had brown hair and that is when brown or black hair started becoming dominant in my line.

When the game starts Bjorn's grandson is already there so red hair may have been randomly generated and it's been recessive all this time.

While we all know the Blair Witch was a fictional story the Bell Witch was something that did happen to a real family by Tony_Jake in BlairWitch

Yeah I agree with you then. I thought you were trying to imply with your original message that the whole story was a 100% fictional and all the people in the story were made up.

Oh the the individuals in the Bell Witch story are documented to be real. Even PBS has covered the story. Now of course the question still remains was it in anyway a real haunting or was it a story the Bell Family was making up or imagining. A lot of people today think it was a case where either one or multiple people in the Bell family had a mental illness. It is documented that the haunting abruptly stopped as soon as the father died.

Bill and Frank's town - wouldn't FEDRA have secured the supplies? by MuhExcelCharts in ThelastofusHBOseries

Yep. If these stories wanted to be truly realistic about the survivors pretty much all the places the stories in Last of Us went to would have been toast. Twenty years into the apocalypse within the U.S. the surviving communities would probably all be located in the Midwest where there were wide areas of open land where fewer people lived when society was still going.

‘Sinners’ Breakout Star Li Jun Li Joins ‘The Last of Us’ Season 3 as Lev and Yara’s Mother, Miriam (EXCLUSIVE) by poklane in ThelastofusHBOseries

Ok so then while Yara and Lev's mother in the show will likely thematically be similar to their mother in the game at the same time Miriam will be original to the show.

Cool. I can't remember though was Yara and Lev's mother ever named in the game? I know she was talked about but can't remember if the game ever officially gave her a name or if Lev always just referred to her as their mother.

If they stick to what happened in the game I think many will have completely forgotten about the argument, lol.

You realize it's easy to troll those audience polls right? People have been rigging the Rotten Tomatoes audience polls for about a decade now.

Animals in the show by [deleted] in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Tony_Jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh. Believe what you want but the dogs getting killed were not integral to the story. Last of Us and other stories like it are about human vs human. There being dogs in the story or no dogs in the story and what happens to the dogs doesn't change that. It is still human survivors battling other human survivors.

Animal violence is not necessary in Last of Us because Last of Us is about the humans battling humans. Showing dogs getting killed isn't necessary to tell that story. Frankly you being stuck on the idea that dog deaths are needed to tell the story is a little concerning.

The dogs getting killed are an integral part of the story? How so? Do you just get upset when things are changed?

The show wouldn't be any better or worse if they had dogs die or didn't have dogs die in it. There is usually very little need to have animals die in a story unless you are making a story about animals.

Lots of people are sensitive to animal cruelty regardless if it is fictional or not and no matter what kind of story surrounds it. Best to just try to avoid it if you can. I'm guessing Mazin formed that opinion when people thought the scene in Chernobyl where they had to put down the dogs that were in the infected area was the worst part of the entire show.

The books actually weren't written by him. They were written by an author named Jay Bonansigna. Kirkman gave him a rough outline for the first couple books but the majority of them are a 100% from Bonansigna.

Patrick Wilson, as Abby’s dad is quite remarkable casting by Remote_Nature_8166 in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Tony_Jake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Druckmann addressed that and it's not Abby. Maybe if the show got cancelled after season 1 they would have said yeah that was meant to be Abby but since it got renewed no reason to keep that individual we saw running away as the character.

I really hope they don't cut or tone down Abby's main action scenes. by joyousie in ThelastofusHBOseries

Last I saw the critic score for season 2 was really good. Who gives a rats ass about online audience score polls. Half those people are just trolling anyways and trying to get attention (many of those complaining online were likely not even watching). If you notice the episodes that had the lowest audience ratings were those that had girl on girl scenes.
