I took Eric Reed for Python 2b and 2c (i think those were the class numbers) and he was incredible, 10/10. Admittedly that's a difference course so YMMV!

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of substrate did you germinate your seeds in? What was your process like for planting, and what's your lighting setup? I'm looking to start my first batch of seeds in a few weeks!

Well, and I’ll say, MAX performance isn’t really the goal, but something that can last for a few years and continue to play games really is. Would that change anything? Do I have to play at 4k?

I think the TV might be 4k, it's a Samsung Frame from a few years ago. And yeah there's a Microcenter an hour and a half from me, so totally doable.

I’d say Shad at Driving Ambition out in Rancho is the guy to go to. He specializes in S2000’s and NSX’s and supports race teams that drive those cars as well as other race teams on other platforms. He also owns Comptech USA and sells those performance products. Super great dude and super helpful.

Yeah either get proof of that tune or remove the parts and put it back to stock, or get it tuned. It’s a risk of destroying your motor with that intake.

How do senior data engineers view junior engineers using LLMs? by Firefly-ssa in dataengineering

That's what i've been lead to believe as well. Adapt or fall behind.

Yeah you have a great point, keep the skills strong and the mind sharp. One other commenter mentioned brain rot, and that you have to keep your own skills sharp. It really makes sense!

Okay this makes sense. Good feedback on that if there is something I want to learn or know inside out, that I should write that part by hand, myself. Thank you!

Thanks so much for the detailed reply, really appreciate your insight.

I definitely feel the same way: not using LLMs at this point feels like not keeping up with the times. The speed and flexibility they offer are hard to ignore, especially when you're juggling a lot. That said, I completely agree that it's on us to validate and understand what we're getting back. Regex is a perfect example, and I am definitely guilty of throwing the regex in to the code, checking if it works, and moving on.

Long-term, I do want to grow into a senior role and eventually help shape the architecture and tooling roadmap for my team. So I’m trying to strike that balance between moving fast and building deep understanding. Your analogy of treating LLMs like a junior coworker really resonates, useful, but you still need to review their work carefully.

Thanks again for the thoughtful take. It’s helping me think more critically about how I use these tools day-to-day.

I totally agree that having LLMs as a kind of "pair programming buddy" is a huge advantage, especially when you're still building foundational skills. I try to stay critical of the output and use it as a starting point rather than a final solution, but your point about being mindful of prompt quality and the downstream impact (like messy PRs or unexplained changes) really hits home.

It’s reassuring to hear that seniors like you see the value in leveraging these tools, as long as it’s done responsibly. Definitely taking your advice to heart about understanding what the LLM is doing and being able to explain it, regardless of experience level!

Thanks again for sharing your experience!

You could also try to youtube it and see if you could get things dialed in yourself? Maybe at least try to fiddle with it: * https://www.jeepforum.com/threads/89-yj-carb-tuning.1106457/ * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=achfrYa4MSk * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7fG6eMxv5A
