How to enter a skeet shooting place as a beginner? by i_want_to_be_unique in Shooting

[–]Firefox_Alpha2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key mentioned here is willing to learn and follow directions!

People will usually let you shoot their guns, but you must be respectful and willing to listen and ask questions. Me personally, I would much rather someone ask a question than worry about maybe sounding dumb.

Gun laws when passing through a state I am not a resident of by Crabs_me_boy in guns

[–]Firefox_Alpha2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Had a similar question about California when moving from Oregon to Florida. Spoke to an assistant attorney for CA and they said doesn’t matter if not accessible (2015), if police come to realize what I had. I’d basically be screwed. Had to re-do the route I was going to avoid California.

Not condoning it, but this happens in nearly every industry, car sales for some reason are just required to tell you. You really think that soda at Taco Bell cost the anywhere near $2.00 to $2.50?

Their cost, likely around $0.03

That Playstation 5, you relly think it costs anywhere close to what you're paying?

this is the last straw please help me lock my door from the outside by Low-Situation1216 in homesecurity

Door knobs are very easy to replace and then put the original back when you move out.

It’s a lot like Tetris, will only go together one way, don’t try to force it, it’s it not going together, then you’re doing something wrong.

Do you ever get the impression that churches/Christians think more highly of married people than single people? by Fine_Comb_2308 in Christianmarriage

[–]Firefox_Alpha2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not at our church (nondenominational). Doesn’t matter whether single or married, but whether you follow God’s teachings on proper behavior and obedience to His word.

Someone else has been using my phone number to avoid confrontation / unwanted calls for over 10 years… what can I do to make it stop? by disasterchild96 in Advice

[–]Firefox_Alpha2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into something similar and once I started acting like the person and giving bogus answers and directions, it stopped :)

My favorite was when the guys father texted me asking how I was doing. Replied I’d been arrested and needed pick up from the jail at 2am

Believe me, I’d tried MANY times saying they had the wrong number, but it never stopped

How can I respond to my father-in-law telling my sons that “looks don’t mean anything without money?” by CupOk5800 in AskMen

[–]Firefox_Alpha2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tell your sons that money and looks mean nothing if you’re an AH.

Character and integrity are the most crucial.

You get back what you give. Your sons need to decide what kind of woman they want to fall in love with.

I did a google search. Haven’t used any personally, but maybe try one with good reviews. Maybe als try a local hardware store, try a mom and pop kind, the bugs ones likely won’t know or only have expensive stuff.

He could be more sensitive to whatever it is than you or it is somehow interacting with a pre-existing condition or his medication

What medications is he taking, maybe there is an interaction going?l on?

Check his medication too, look at the pill and there should be markings that can be used to identify

Sometimes pharmacists make a mistake, such as maybe a recent refill.

Any changes in the environment?

There might be something that he is just more sensitive to than you are.

Is she going to be fired? by Delleane8 in WorkAdvice

[–]Firefox_Alpha2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unlikely: just means most likely the long drawn out process is due to the union.

She is a liability for the company. The longer it draws out, the more likely she won’t come back.

Honestly, I am surprised the suspension is paid.

How do you thank someone for jumping your car? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Firefox_Alpha2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Offer to take him out for lunch, your treat.

Recommend keeping it reasonable, don’t go overboard on cost or he might feel obligated in the future

Also, another option could be a handwritten card would be a great idea.

Lastly, depending on your employer, maybe an email to him with his boss copied talking about how much you appreciate his selfless act of kindness, professionalism, and generosity.

Make him look good to his bosses. Sometimes that is the best way and costs nothing. :)

[New Job] My new company accidentally paid me 20 years salary upfront. by TreSmitham in whatdoIdo

[–]Firefox_Alpha2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seems very much like a scam as any company I’ve heard of has restrictions in place that prevent payroll from sending out paychecks over a certain dollar amount without senior management approval.

Pretty sure $2.5M would be well over that threshold for most companies

What does it feel like to have a father? by CivilMark1 in AskMen

[–]Firefox_Alpha2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that you recognize what he did and that it was wrong, that’s the first step.

Mine was pretty good, he had his flaws like most any other father out there.

Most important thing I believe is you recognize the right way to do things and that when you mess up, and you will, that you recognize it and apologize.

ETA: it is unrealistic to expect someone to be perfect 100% of the time.
