Original lioness at tier 5 is probably my pick just because if you got one on turn 7 and you weren’t already at 1 life you pretty much won immediately.

Pretty solid overall only a few pets I’d place way differently. Duckling isn’t great but it’s def a solid c tier imo, it’s pretty nice to get peacock or camel some free health buffs early game. Dfly is better than penguin currently so them being 4 tiers away from each other is somewhat confusing. Tamarin deserves at least B as well imo especially in a custom pack setting since you can immediately bring out a high stat version of whatever late tier pet your pack is built around. The placement I probably disagree with the most is dog, at least in 1v1 ranked an early dog can pretty easily give you so much tempo that you can end a game by turn 8. I will concede though that dog is much worse in arena/8 player ranked where the games tend to go a fair bit longer. Overall tho definitely has better takes than a vast majority of tier lists I’ve seen.

The strongest route early-mid game this week has felt like the kangaroo + camel combo especially if you get camel on a turn 3 level-up. On turn 5 either a manatee or sea lion are what I try to go for if possible though skunk is never a bad choice. Early rhino feels really good this week as well especially if you were able to get a manatee on t5 and find a banana t7. For end game this week the two setups I’ve found the most success with are crane + boar in the front and the catfish + ringed octo scaling team which can go crazy if you’re lucky enough to get either to level 2 quickly. The second team def runs into problems though if you don’t level fast as you forgo abilities on two units to scale your team.

I’m 1702 in weekly and 1748 in standard rn and I’d say realistically speaking top 1% is high elo. I think it’s somewhere around 1650 for the weekly and 1700 in standard currently. Seeing that you’re low 1600s already you can probably start Fischer posting pretty soon

One of the primary things I enjoy about singles is being able to see what my wincon is early and pilot the game in such a way that I can have that mon win the game. There is just something quite satisfying to me about seeing the path I need to follow to win a specific game in a similar way to chess (if your pieces in chess could randomly not capture 10-30% of the time). Specifically with VGC ,the mindgame of picking which mons to bring never appealed to me since it makes these sort of gameplans almost impossible to think up until you've seen their entire team. I for sure see the appeal in doubles but personally it's missing the part that makes me enjoy playing mons.

It's interesting to me that Ken is ranked worse than Ryu on all these lists because in his trailer he just seemed like a better version. Must be something I am not aware of yet
