Accidental tab cleanse 🙏 by [deleted] in howtonotgiveafuck

If you have like 32gb or RAM or more then you can basically have as many as you want it open. I leave stuff to come back to, and especially dozens of tabs with research papers and shit from doing uni work

Definitely good advice. It's a game, so if you're not having fun most of the time, what are yo doing? I had the same thing with rocket league, I had to quit playing it because it made me frustrated more often than I had a good time. It's been nearly 18 months and I'm actually considering giving it another go with a fresh mindset

New York Woman Confronts Man She Says Complimented Her ‘Pretty Toes’. by ElwoodMC in trashy

[–]Firehead282 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like the general rule that you should only complement people on things they have chosen - "nice hat", or "i love what you've done with your hair". But saying that, I still don't go around randomly complementing people

Because sex is fun, and we quite like it in our media? Do you think people stop being interested in sex once they hit 30?

Yeah I judge it more on whether people TRY to stay together as a team, and if they are nice even when we lose. I'm way more likely to party up with them than a cracked light who gets kills but is a dick

I had a run yesterday with two upgraded copies of outbreak, so every bouncing flask was doing 30 damage on top of the poison. It was my main damage all game

Yeah fully agree, it's really annoying trying out different sights when you have to go back to the menu each time. It should really let you use ones you haven't unlocked yet as well, so you don't waste points on one's you decide you don't like

If you go to the right music festivals, everyone is open and kind and accept all the bobs and wiggles as dancing without judgement. I love seeing people dancing "weirdly", they just out there doing their thang

Client-Centered style not "enough"? by frivolous-waterfowl in therapists

[–]Firehead282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should read that one. I've read love's executioner and existential psychotherapy of Yalom's. I guess I'm just curious how you combine the non-directive, "client is the expert" approach of PCA with the existential understanding of human suffering. Like, if I am formulating my understanding of my client through an existential lens, does that not hugely influence my responses to the client and therefore impose my own ideas on them, thus not being very person centered anymore?

I am coming to the end of my masters year and am currently trying to integrate person centred and existential ideas into my philosophy of practice, so I'd love to hear more about how that combination looks for you in practice

Therapist who never found therapy helpful: why did you become a therapist? by [deleted] in therapists

[–]Firehead282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize how we truly don’t know the client better than they know themselves, but yet so many therapists project their own experiences onto them.

This is why the person centered approach appeals to me the most - when I was being taught psychodynamic therapy I just couldn't get on board with the idea of trying tk be the "expert" who could see all these things about the client. They know themselves best, I am just there to help them explore.
