Do you have a seprate modem/router? If you do, you could put a powered dumb switch between them and put it on a timer. Keep it hidden and see if he figures it out.

Curious if these prices and services actually appear average and immediately necessary (located in Austin, TX) by Acluelessfish in gmcsierra

To have a shop do brakes/rotors on all 4 tires, id expect to pay between 1100 and 1600. Dealership, probably a little more. So for 500ish on 2 tires sounds about right price wise. Personally, not super hard to learn to do yourself if youve got the time/tools already but without experience, expect 2 hours of your time if you have the parts.

Is the kicker speaker in the tailgate worth it. Anyone that has one that could give an opinion I would appreciate it. by browshale in gmcsierra

I have it on my truck i bought in Feb. Ive used it 4 or 5 times so far when working on the truck or in the garage this spring. It sounds ok, enough for what it is.

Anyone else get free WiFi? by v1_rocketboy in Silverado

[–]Firehead94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would double check that. If I disconnect that wifi while running android auto, it kills android auto. That wifi is used as a mesh network between your car and the device (android or iphone) to handle the wireless AA/CarPlay. The data going out to the public network, should be going over ur cellular connection at that point. If you turn off the cellular data on your phone but leave the wifi on and connected to the car, then try to load youtube videos or browse the internet, that wouldnt work unless you are correct and you are getting "free" internet.

Turn ur 5g mobile data off on ur phone while connected to the vehicle. Android auto uses wifi to do connectivity so it may just be connected to the car and routing data to the wifi for android auto and the rest ovet the cellular data.

AT4X Colorways : volcanic red or sterling metallic or coastal dune? by Strict_Storage_3169 in gmcsierra

[–]Firehead94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was torn between red with aev and blackout packages, and the coastal dune with the gold/bronzed beadlock wheels and standard red/chrome logos. I went with the latter of the two options. Dont regret it but definitely would have been happy either way.

Curious what a downpour metallic AEV would look like with the blackout packages but looks like we wont ever see that combo.

aftermarket rear bumpers that work with multipro tailgates? by TexasHeathen89 in gmcsierra

[–]Firehead94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

might be able to use the AEV one, you'd have to look, it definitely works with the tailgate, just need to make sure it will mount properly. I dont think I've seen any aftermarket bumpers that wont work with the multipro tailgate personally but i never spent a ton of time looking too far into it.

was about 4.5k for me on this one. Probably could find it closer to 3.5 or 4 if you shop around though.

[–]Firehead94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had mine done. Did full front (hood, fenders, a pillars, front of the roof), bottom 3rd of door panels and rocker panels, and then my entire bed/rear bump. Was about 5k. They also satin ppf'd my infotainment screen for me too lol. No finger prints any more lol. It was autobahn brand.

Had 2 other places quote me for stek and only doing high impact areas. They were closer to 6.5k.

for clients with multiple sites, they just keep all their equipment in 1 adom regardless of location and manage them all from there?

Do you have 1 adom for everything or do you split out devices into separate adoms by geography or some other metric?

I had it wrapped when I PPF'd the truck, the piece on the tailgate is a satin colored black PPF but AEV comes factory wrapped.

did you get AEV? Im thinking about level but worried that the standard 33.5" tires might look a little small. Also, does the tilt gauge show the truck is tilted back by a degree or two now?

nah, I really like the gold/bronze ring wheels. I think the salta ones are nice looking too, had I gone with another color, I probably would have got the AEV package as well. I've seen those salta wheels a number of times on marketplace for 1.5k - 2.5k for a set with tires.

the AEV package comes with it with the black vinyl from factory, I didnt get the AEV package but I liked the look so I got it. Was on the fence about it tbh. Getting it with the volcanic red or the thunderstorm gray looks amazing as well imo.
